Double Live Gonzo was the first album that was MINE!
my older brother bought it for me... he wanted to listen to it... 1978 dang..
My Mom came home to find me asleep with my head between the speakers of our Soundesign 8 track stereo with Kiss Alive cranked full blast... she wasn' to happy... 1975 $hit!!
I actually still have a few of my old 8-track tapes and a BSA component player that works. I got the thing working a couple of years ago and spent a weekend listening to Bloodrock and some other bands that I hadn't transitioned to CD's.
This is a cool site for 8-track info, tips for restoring old tapes (the little "track change" piece of aluminum foil WILL come off the tape when you play an old tape), and links to suppliers for 8-track tapes and parts:
I still have my 8 track tapes and have come close to buying a BIG Mouth by GE on E-bay a couple of times I miss listening to The Greaseman on DC 101 FM Washington DC's Rock station
I do not miss the AMC Pacer Levis edition with 8 track ,,,, even in the DL extendo version - it was lame. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_Pacer aunt had one, she traded in a 70 Nova for it.... that should tell you something about the family right there.
Black Sabbath, Dio, Judas Preist, Van Halen (not Van Hagar), AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Blue Oyster Cult, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, April Wine, Frank Zappa, Heart, Jeff Beck, Montrose, Ozzy, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Sex Pistols, ZZ Top, Metallica, Slayer, Guns n Roses, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, White Zombie, Tool, Pantera, Clutch....
Ronnie was a kick-a guitarist back in the day. I saw him with the Edgar Winter Group in 1973 and then with his own band about 1975 (before anyone knew who Sammy Hagar was!). Ronnie's still kicking- I'd like to see him again sometime.
Miss just about everything. Of particular note are: * Internal combustion conveyances without electronics that you could fix on the front lawn. * Applying graphical solutions to complicated problems. * Driving thru the boonies looking for a place to hunt & assuming you could hunt there unless it was noted otherwise. * When your 1st concern when designing something was "will it work" not "how can I avoid getting sued"
and - oh yeh! * My mother - one really good human being * Zeke & Pete the best damn dogs ever
I miss the old KAAY "Beakers Street program. Check out Wickipedia.... 50,000 watts of pure clear channel AM power. Back in the day, half the country could hear them at night. Came on at 11:00 every night. I heard many, many of the latest and greatest cool tunes the local "bubble gum" stations wouldn't play. Cream, Hendrix, Joplin, etc. etc. Heard my first real Blues music on that station. I didn't know what it was at the time but it moved my soul. Still does (where did you think the "Bluz" part came from?). I remember hearing Roberta Flack for the first time. It took about a year before the local stations played it.
The old BWB is missed as well along with many of past posters (Blake really hit it on the head..).

Did anyone else used to watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins. Now let's watch as my assistant Jim separates the dangerous animal from it's offspring and tags them all! I miss that sort of quality programing.
