I've seen this one before . Great barn, fantastic cars - but the story is reportedly false http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/barnfind. asp |

i know where a 69 Shelby GT-500 Fastback is..... just sitting up on blocks, fluids drained, wrapped in visquine.... it kills me everytime I see it. The 72 Maveric that is next to it, that actuall sees miles is pretty tasty too. |

I know where a mint 1972 Kawasaki H2 750 is. It has been in storage for 20+ years. Best part is my dad was the original owner. Just waiting on some extra funding before I make an offer on it. The guy knows what its worth though so I'm not going to get for a steal. |

I bet most of those would just need a jump or new battery and would fire right up. I'd love to fall into something like that. |

>>>I bet most of those would just need a jump or new battery and would fire right up. I'll bet you are right. I loved the days when anything that had "compression, fuel and a spark" would run. When I first got my 1952 Cushman it hadn't been run in 20 years. I carefully tool the head off . . . . put about 1" layer of penetrating oil on top of the piston . . . went and drank beer for a while. Came back later .. stuffed in a towel and soaked out all I could get out . . . put the head back on . . new plug . . fresh gas . . . started with the fix kick. Ya gotta love it . . . It's sitting here next to me . . . hasn't been started in at least 10 years . . . I may have to try it again. |

An Electra is an, um, "interesting" Norton. I'd like to have one as a curio, but I don't think I would give 2K for that one, even if it does have ape-hangars. I saw a really nice BSA Lightning on CL a few weeks ago that was priced way below what it was worth. The only reason I didn't call on it was the sure knowledge that if I did, I would buy it. |

As wee lads, someone always had a clapped out Cushman in the family's garden shed. We'd do the daring over who would hold the spark plug wire while someone else kicked down on the starter lever. Fun. |

A guy who worked for me on one of the ships found out about a guy who knew a guy whose neighbor was a retired cop in Rhodes, Greece, and had this little pearl sitting in his shed. Voltage regulator died, so he put it in the shed and let it sit for 40 years. I picked her up for around $1700 with around 1800km on the odometer. Got the sidecar from a guy in Canada a few years later who got it from a girl who found it in her uncle's basement after he passed away ($1800 with shipping). Still restoring her (appx $1000 spent to date), and she ain't all that fast, but she still looks good getting there ...
... good finds are still out there ... |

Squids ... yup, it's a Steib LS-200. Cobra handle is in the garage to get polished, and rear fender getting straightened.

Just caught the last episode of Desert Car Kings. Its not bad. The owner has TONS of cars we all would die for. Problem with it, as with a lot of so called "reality" TV. Its WAY over produced. Gets pretty cheesy. |
