I don't know if it's on the news...Brisbane city (where I am), Ipswich city and other parts of Queensland are flooding. I am in the suburb of carindale - if I can help anyone just let me know. I know there are a few Aussies lurking on this forum. |

Ozzy, I hear ya mate. Im down south but have family in Brisbane.. Looks like most of the east of our great country may be affected NSW & VIC not as devistating as up north.. We had Black Saturday not so long ago where we lost 162 lives in Victoria from the bushfires. My thoughts & prayers go out to everyone in their time of need... |

I heard on National Public Radio, a man speaking by cell phone was on the roof of his house he wouldn't evacuate. Rough times like that test everyone. |

Hahaha . . you misread. I didn't insult you . . (unless you were sitting on that roof after being warned to leave for 6 days prior) I was insulting the guy on the roof. Let me be clear . . HE IS STUPID. |

I rode thru a few hurricanes when I lived on the Gulf Coast. A couple were Cat5s, one of which the eye went over the top of us. THAT was creepy, quietest silence I have EVER not heard. We never evacuated tho, and this flood over there sounds like it happened pretty fast. Not sure I would have left either since no one foresaw this magnitude. Prayers and best wishes for ALL over there. Anyone know if Lemonchili and Vamps are OK, seems they live around Brisbane IIRC.. Z |

Ozzysx, you are best posting something like this on the Quickboard. This is the 1125R Board, and has limited viewership, the quickboard is your best bet for exposure. |

Thanks for the link Tim, that board slipped my mind. Good to know they are fine. Never ceases to amaze me the folks I've met thru our mutual love for Erik's creations. Zack |

Gosh, floods in Australia are even more "interesting"; consider the salt water crocs for instance. Hope all our affected friends and their families there are doing okay. |

I'll move this to the quick board in a bit if that's okay with OzzySX. |

Just to give folks a sense of what it's looking like. 200,000 homes in Brisbane have water in them. Friends husband was collected for work by helicopter from their years yesterday. Ugly scene . . . .

Hey Ozzy, We're in Sandgate. No direct issues for us now that the rain has stopped. When this mess is over we might have to catch up for a ride Gosh, floods in Australia are even more "interesting"; consider the salt water crocs for instance. Crocs are definitely something to be wary of up north now that they have much more territory. A common danger everywhere however is snakes which apparently like to take refuge in houses, buildings, electrical boxes, anywhere dry really. I've seen some aerial footage from yesterday and this morning and I'm still having trouble getting my head around how much of Brisbane/Ipswich has been effected. I really feel for the people who have lost so much. I believe the river has hit it's peak and is now slowly receding. |

Hi lemonchilli A ride sounds good. I'm all good here but my mother is in lowood and I have not spoken to her. However I did receive a SMS telling me they are ok. It's going to be a huge clean up. I see the pics on the news but it does not seem real. I have seen personally looks ok. I just heard the death toll has risen and the recovery will take at least two years. Plus there may be a cyclone on the way. Very sad for everyone. I plan to start helping with the clean up on Saturday. |
