Why not blame the mental health community in Arizona for letting this one slip through the safety net?

Because they've likely had their funding stripped to $0 or right next to it, until they are basically no longer functional. Safety net, we don't need no f'ing safety net.

I can blame the Republicans for that, can't I??

the lock he used, according to reports, was the glock 19, which is the one in my video, UNMODIFIED, the 30 rnd mage slides in without any changes
the rate of fire is semi auto and as delivered, no modification
listen to it plink the metal target at 10 yards...in twenty seconds.

he was an f tard with criminal intent.
He is not a political martyr
He should not be considered 'mentally ill'
it was him pulling the trigger, let make HIM pay the price per the law for it.
(alleged, my ass - he f'n did it, like saying alleged will change his guilt)

Lets quit coddling criminals in the vain of mental illness

(of course he was not in a right mind, he took to a gun to solve a political difference ! - that does not make him insane, crazy, mentally ill... it makes him an evil twit with no debate skills)

Boy, if this turns out to be true, this Sheriff has some 'splainin' to do.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB100014240527487037 91904576075941558881006.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

Sheriff Dupnik Misfires

Sheriff Clarence Dupnik’s department was well aware of Jared Loughner’s mental instability and may have been slow to respond to death threats.

By JOHN FUND

The Arizona shootings have made Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, the man in charge of investigating the tragedy, a liberal hero for his comments targeting what he calls the “irresponsible” political rhetoric of conservatives. But he also has critics who say his department was well aware of Jared Loughner’s mental instability and may have been slow to respond to death threats the suspect made in the months leading up to Saturday’s rampage.

Mr. Dupnik has been Pima County sheriff for 30 years and is a seasoned law enforcement professional. But he hasn’t sounded that way of late. A Democrat and self-described Rachel Maddow fan, he has deliberately inserted himself into politics by linking the shootings to conservative commentators and rhetoric.

His fellow lawmen in Arizona are appalled because all of the evidence so far suggests that the gunman is a deeply disturbed individual with no coherent political motives. “I just hope he’s not giving this 22-year-old an alibi by blaming talk radio,” Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio told the Los Angeles Times.

Mr. Dupnik decided to personalize his comments yesterday when he went after Rush Limbaugh. “[Mr. Limbaugh] attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials,” he said. “And that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences.” He told ABC News that he would like to see the federal government establish a commission to promote civility in the U.S.

This is not the first time Sheriff Dupnik has gone off on tangents. Back in September, he accused Tea Party members of bigotry and called Arizona’s new controversial anti-illegal immigration law “racist” and “disgusting.” He even openly flirted with the idea of ordering his deputies not to enforce it.

Sheriff Dupnik would do far better to spend his time figuring out how Jared Loughner managed to buy a gun last November to commit his crimes. He apparently passed a federal background check solely because he had no prison record. But Reuters reports that Sheriff Dupnik acknowledged that “there had been earlier contact between Loughner and law enforcement after he had made death threats, although they had not been against [Rep. Gabrielle] Giffords.” The sheriff’s department was aware that Loughner had been asked by police at a local community college to stop attending classes because of his odd behavior. Several of his fellow students expressed fear of him and said they believed he was unstable.

The real debate in the aftermath of the Arizona shootings should be why a troubled individual was able to compile such a record without attracting more attention from Sheriff Dupnik and his fellow law enforcement professionals. Perhaps if Loughner had been convicted of making death threats, he wouldn’t have been able to clear the federal background check he needed to purchase a firearm last November.

Making political points trying to blame Palin and Limbaugh when he has blood on his hands. UNBELIEVABLE!

I can tell you that as of now, there is no data sharing between the DSHS and their mental diagnosis, treatment, and medication of people and FBI or Local Law Enforcement

Now they want to flip that switch, in the 'interest' of public safety and void patient privacy regulations.....

Well they are already letting the IRS into your health records,,,, what is one more agency ? ; )

Looks like the feds might need someone with medical billing experience to find the nutcases.... hello job opportunity.

I just don't understand how someone can be making death threats at a school, and the local authorities claim to not know about it. Schools have become zero tolerance areas for this sort of thing, even when it comes from a preschooler (DAMHIK). I can't believe that with the history this kid had with the school that they kept quite about death threats. The authorities HAD to know about this stuff.

It is amazing how quickly the templated response to this incident was implemented. Almost as amazing as how well the masses are digesting the koolaid.......

If one were into tinfoil headpieces it could be speculated that some wanted to derail a debate on obamacare on the Hill and open the debate on limiting freedom(s). The classic loner/loser takes out a moderate Democrat and Conservative Justice, who was angered over said Dem's vote on obamacare, immediately point fingers at Conservative opposition, all talk shifts to civility, reducing risks (i.e. gun/speech control), must silence opposition (aka: vitriol) to the progressive agenda, never let a good tragedy go to waste.... Then there is/was the "person of interest" immediately after the incident who may have conspired/assisted.....someone whispering in the ear?

No, I seriously don't believe any of that crap, but it's interesting how an incident such as this brings out all kinds of "theories". Some are just better funded/organized than others.

I have to agree with you Brian. This twisting of a tragic event sickens me. I only hope that BO won't use tonight's memorial service to make political points.

I can only imagine how the relatives of the victims must feel to have the Sheriff spouting about links to Palin and Limbaugh only to admit that he has no evidence to support the opinions he is spouting. The Sheriff is supposed to be dispassionate in his duties, collect the evidence, and draw his conclusions from that evidence. Instead he is providing a potential legal defense to the perpetrator of the crime. He needs to be removed from office ASAP!

How is it that our political leaders describe him as driven by right wing hate speech.

The unbiased media describes him as ideologically incoherent.

Those who sat with him daily in college describe him as a left-wing pothead.

Something's not right!

My sister in law chimed in that Sarah Palin caused the Tucson shooting. I have known her for twenty years and she is as dumb as a wall. The motto at IBM in the Sixties was: "Think!". Apparently this is in short supply in America today.

"Vote for me and I'll set you free. Rap on, brother, rap on." Here comes new laws. Here comes new attacks on liberty. "Here comes da Judge!".

If Sarah Palin becomes President of the United States of America,... I'd love to see the first meeting between her and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Or the first remarks back and forth. And Maybe she will invite him up to Alaska for some moose or bear hunting.

I had Michael Medved on the radio on the way home today. He had caller after caller saying that the shooter was influenced by Palin. There's a part of me that wonders how these sheeple can be so easily lead to believe a lie.

There's another part of me that is extremely angry that the left is simultaneously finger pointing about irresponsible political rhetoric while engaging in a coordinated campign with the medias help (just look at the thread with the MSNBC poll) to smear the opposition. These people are Orwellian f*cks. The sheeple that follow them are simply pathetic.

The media is acting essentially the same as during the 2008 Presidential campaign when they threw away any pretension of objectivity. It is all about the cold blooded grab for power. Fox News has many Liberals on their opinion shows. How many Conservatives are on MS-LSD to counterbalance the Leftist shriekers there?

Now if we can just keep Boehner from crying for two seconds.

That was in the middle of an election cycle. We just finished an election cycle. This is likely going to be the most even handed we see the media for the next two years. I don't feel very optimistic for the direction of things.
