Update.... The Cleveland Cavaliers have offered a job to a homeless Ohio man with a golden radio voice. Ted Williams, whose deep baritone and plight have made him an online video sensation, was contacted Wednesday by the Cavs. Team spokesman Tad Carper says details are being worked out on the possible position. It could include Williams working in Quicken Loans Arena. The Columbus Dispatch reports that video of Williams posted this week on its website has commanded millions of views.

Hopefully he will take full advantage of his second chance in life and make the most of it. A voice like that is worth a lot of $$$!

Two years Clean - That is awesome. If he can stay clean and sober he stands a chance.

The danger I see is that all too often when people get sudden riches they manage to destroy their lives (countless rock stars, pro ball players, lottery winners, etc.). He will be facing temptations like never before. It will be a great story if he makes it work though!

Then again, getting a second chance at life, at 53, sometimes is recognized for what it is. The last chance to make it.

I hope things work out wonderfully for him and all involved. We're a country sorely needing some good things . . . I like this. And if 53 is your "last chance" . . I'm in deep shit looking at starting a new business at 57 . . . hell, I know a guy who's doing it at 60 !! I've been retired once . . and I saw what retiring at 52 did to my Dad. I figure I've got at least one, maybe two careers left in me . . .

Court, I don't know for sure, but I suspect that you don't have a history of substance abuse. I'm also assuming that at 57, you aren't living on the street collecting coins at intersections. The age isn't in question. The willingness for others to give someone in HIS condition a second chance at age 53 is. Very few would.

Hypothetically, if one was a motorcycle designer in his late 50's with no accomplishments under his belt, no resume. Have him spend a significant amount of time trapped by drugs and alcohol with only two years clean under his belt. Put him on the street collecting change. I wonder how many people would be calling him or returning his phone call. I suspect very few. Like none.

As a recovering addict... I think he will be just fine... his head is in the right place... a gratefull addict is a clean addict... Show Up, Clean House and Trust God. It works if you work it... I am a little un-nerved that after a shower and a haircut, this guy looks a lot like BO at a distance though... Who would have thought???

Fatty, I re-read your post... and I think you underestimate the spirit of the human race... Especially the recovering community... there are plenty of people out there who would have my back no matter what I did or didn't do... And I can count those people on two hands... which means I am an extremely fortunate person. Show Up. Clean House. Trust God... a God of your understanding (the universe, the creator, chi, the tao... whatever you want to call it). It works! I am living proof !!!

Do you think they resemble each other? Are they relatives? Out of Work Homeless Man, what better Reference could you have than The President of the United States.

I think he was cooler with the big James Brown hairdo. But hey, that's just me bein' crazy. There was a guy here in LA working intersections who could really sing, literally, for his supper. I never give money to beggars (I give to charities that help feed people -- cash turns into drugs/booze). But I gave this guy $ because he was entertaining... because he did SOMETHING to earn the $ as opposed to just begging for it.
