I posted this up in the 1125 Section but I figured most don't venture there, so here it is on Quick Board too. I think most here will be tickled by this ass-kicking of the "worlds best" production supercar by a 2-wheel production Superbike. ....and it's not Ducati propaganda. Enjoy! I did. http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=4 2893 |

Cool vidja, but I think the Buell 1125R could smoke both of the Italians especially at the tracks they used. @ Willow springs: Ferrari 1:22.3 Ducati 1:19.3 Buell 1125R 1:14.072 (Shawn Higbee) |

Great experiment: Me driving the 458 for a few laps and then a few laps riding an 1198S (or street 1190!!) and see which time is lowest. Would I be unbiased, though? Might take more laps to see. |

Barker, is that Higbee time for Streets or the big track? First time in a LONG time, I was pulling for a Ducati! LOL |

I loved the way they tried to write off the Bike's time with "to get the most out of it, you have to be Steve Rapp." What they forgot to mention is that they had a champion car driver behind the wheel of the ferarri too. I love hearing car guys try to make excuses for why a $15K bike will absolutely TRASH their $250K car. |

To be fair, it was a different story on the long track. |

>>>I love hearing car guys try to make excuses for why a $15K bike will absolutely TRASH their $250K car. Not to worry . . . I seem to have accumulated a lot of friends who drive Ferrari's and they fall into two categories. 1) Could care less what the bike does. 2) Cares what the bike does and own several of them. One way of the other . . . I don't see any of them parting with their Ferrari's as a result of this. P.S. - The Ford GT-40 is a "poor guy" who tags along . . . You can't see me in the photo . . . . I'm the one in the best up and rusted old pickup truck. |

Too true. Often times the inevitable debate comes up of less expensive high performance car(Z06, ZR1, GT-R, etc) vs the expensive marques. The folks shopping the expensive stuff aren't typically looking at the less expensive stuff and vice versa. Remember, there's always gonna be somebody faster. Court, your pickup truck comment reminds me of the old joke about when a guy says they own an HD you should ask them how he likes his Honda. Nels |

Court, If any of your spendy buddy's want to trade their Ferrari for the Fast Italian, I just happen to have a Ducati that I would trade for one. Only got a couple of thousand on the clock and a fresh set of Michelins. That would be a late model V12 Ferrari with complete and recent service history. Goes with out saying, am I right?

Is that a Ford GT40 in the middle of all those Ferrari's? |

Not many cars grab my attention. That Ford does. True exotic. Ferraris, not so much, as evidenced by the picture. |

Depends on the Ferrari . . . There are like 5 of these in the United States. . .it's a California in the Azzurro Blue in the USA. Here's the Ford . . . Hey . . here's one from the other day . . . |

Winner! It's a "would you rather" question. Would you rather have a $150K car, or 10 bikes at 15K a piece? I too would take the bikes and not look back. (Message edited by boltrider on December 20, 2010) |

I'd take a collection of old Honda S-90, CL77, Triumph Bonneville, Norton and so forth before I'd buy a collector car . . . . The yellow Ferrari looks great and belongs to about the nicest guy you'd ever meet.

It's a hatchback! A friend picked up a new California this summer but all our kids want to do is watch the roof go up and down........and that is with the engine running. I had to ask her indoors whether they were really mine........! |
