Well, most of the info will be right here...I added it, but you should make it a group, not a person if you're going to do that, because as a group, other people can add/modify info.
But, since you're profile says you're new here, most of the planning and news will be posted right here, like last year. It's easier to keep this the central location.
Edit: Brainfarted your join date and thought it was...ahh, nevermind, I need sleep.

Wait,I might just change it to a group instead. You assume that ALL Buell riders are members of BadWeB,which is not the case.I run into lots of them and they have never heard of this site! I will see what happens in regards to a response,as we can always link them to this thread.

My two cents (with a 50% off sale):
I'd offer to help, but living as far away as I do, I don't know that I could do a whole lot, but for whoever is in charge feel free to tap on my shoulder.
I like Brin's idea on the music - we do have a lot of musicians, and if that's something I could coordinate I'd do it in a heartbeat. The only issue would be getting instruments - I myself am a drummer, can't exactly strap them to the bike. Can't imagine lugging a guitar around would be much easier.
My vote is AGAINST 'taking it on the road'. I'd love to hit up a rally in CO or NM or something, but the thing is we already have Buell events all over the country. If we don't have it in East Troy, it's not a Homecoming, it's just another gathering, so there's no point in doubling up, so to speak. Nothing against Char's idea - my Homecoming trip last year covered 14 states between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and Wisconsin, while better than expected, wasn't a highlight aside from the company... but a Homecoming is a Homecoming and anywhere else just wouldn't be right.

wisconsin is just so boring if you live here... it isn't all roses... ... although I tell you I was grateful I didn't go any further with all that camping gear...

My vote is for East Troy. Alpine Valley did a great job. I think that if we work with them maybe we can get camping onsite??? Just a thought. Now that would be EPIC!
BTW Char, I have a really good recipe for coleslaw, are you volunteering?

I think Homecoming needs to be in East Troy as long as Erik and Erik Buell Racing call this home.
Alpine Valley and East Troy were great. The staff at Alpine Valley made us feel like locals, especially at the bar, our primary gathering place (LOL). The town of East Troy was also enjoyable, we met the editor of the news paper and made it in the local paper.
Combining Homecoming on the same weekend as the AMA race has benefits. The distance (2 hr ride) creates some challenges, but attending the race with all the Buell riders will be priceless.
Could part of the week, Wed thru Friday, be centered in East Troy and the balance, Sat thru Sunday, be in Elkhart Lake? Just a thought.
Spend the end of the week in East Troy and the weekend at Road America.
-Homecoming definitely needs to be in East Troy, that's not even a question. -I was pleased with Alpine Valley and would stay there again. -I have absolutely no problem riding 2 hours to support Geoff May and Erik Buell at RA, especially if it takes me an entire day of riding just to get to WI.
Might be able to provide support in the way of marketing and whatnot. Not a local, but much of that can be handled on the interwebs, such as shirts, website, whatnots.
My two cents.... Should be in East Troy or it would not be HOMECOMING. I don't understand the concern about riding to the AMA races at Elkart Lake. We rode there a couple of years ago and it was no big deal. Isn't that what motorcyles are for...RIDING? We turned on the gps and learned a couple different routes up there. It was cool!
It's not a bad ride at all... I did it last year actually. Checked out of the hotel and rode up to the Nationwide race. It's fun ride if you know which way to go!
I had a great time last year, my 1st Homecoming. My thoughts for a proposed 2011 event based on my ONE experience:
1) Homecoming has to be in East Troy to be HOMEcoming. 2) Alpine Valley was a great venue and convenient to everything on the agenda. Predominantly good weather (and Gus's!) helped! 3) AMA Races at RA the 1st weekend of June: Charter daily buses (pay to play) with big Buell Racing banners so they know who's inside! Yeah, I know! There won't be a parking area full of Buell motorcycles! Possible downside: Who goes to the races for just one day? The races might reduce other event options or extend the event. (I'm OK with a longer event, just sayin'!) 4) Band: No disrespect meant to any Buell-owning musicians, but trying to organize a group jam band that most folks would enjoy sounds scary! We do a summer cookout at work and have an employee jam band, but they practice for 2 months before the event!
Our vote is of course to keep Homecoming in East Troy since it is still the home of Erik Buell Racing! We also live only 7 miles from there and my wife worked there too! We would love to see it tied in with the races at Road America, we could also assist in setting up things in the East Troy area.
