I ride the Kingpin tour. Real world mileage is 42-45 on the highway, 45-50 on the slab. The bike as a cruiser/tour machine does everything well. I wish it had better lean clearance for the twisty roads but it's a cruiser and you just have to adjust your entry speed. Brakes are pretty good, I'm primarily a front barker when I ride and I do wish it were a bit more powerful (wish it had the Hammer front end and brakes) Styling wise, I like it. I still think HD does paint and chrome better but Victory has stepped it up in that department and if they stay on their current arc of development in model design and quality control, I think they'll pass them. (IMO) What really sold me on my Victory was the motor. Now I have the 08 model which has the neutered and lowered compression pistons. I did a direct comparison with the comparable HD and it was just a no brainer for me. Granted the HD was a TC96 compared to the Vic 100 so there was a displacement difference. With slip-ons and a intake and cams this bike goes pretty good.. Like I said," I'm totally satisfied" here's a photo pre-S&S intake.

Vics are air and oil cooled, like my Uly minus the fan. |

Zane~ I guess the only real complaint would be its luggage capacity. It's not really a big deal but as a tour bike it should have come with the option hard bags. I travel light so it's not that big a deal but I've seen the way some travel and its just not enough, even with the tour trunk.. |

That is one sweet looking bike. I think I'm in love, or at least in lust. |

I ride the Kingpin Tour also. It's my second Vic (I owned the original model too, a 1999 V92, upgraded to a special edition (pearl/orange with silver flames, billet wheels, etc) Kingpin after 20K miles) I'm sold on Vics, just look how far they have come in 11 years. I was the Pres of the South FL Victory club for 3 years. The motor is rock solid and is way more advanced than HD for an air cooled twin(Overhead cam, etc) Change the oil and ride, practically maintenance-free. Great looking bike, always gets compliments. BTW, Erik and Vic CEO Mark Blackwell are both racers; Mark was 1971 National MX champion, I used to watch his races. (Keith Wandell does what?) After four Buells and two Vics, I respect both companies equally. |

Yep, I like the Victorys. If I sell the BMW this spring, I'm going to get a Crossroads.

I like the Victorys. Does anybody know about the maint on one? Whats the valve adj interval? Is it shim and bucket? I just wonder how user friendly it is for a rider that wants to do his own maintenance. |

Been on a Vegas for 4 years now. I agree on the comments about lean angle. Cured mine, or at least made it better, with the Vegas Low footpeg perches. I have the single brake up front but with the 21" wheel I couldn't use anymore brake if I had it. It's beens a great solo touring bike. I've had this one all over the country but we're getting ready to off it for a new Cross Country. BTW, if anyone's looking to get into a Vic for a very reasonable price ping me. Kim and I went to Indy Powersports and sat on the Cross Country. What a bike. For a short guy like me you couldn't get a better balanced bike. We met a guy at Hog Daze Night who traded in his Lehman Trike for a Cross Roads. He had bad knees and dropped his Gold Wing a time or two then jumped to a HD/Lehman Trike. He demo'ed a Cross Country at Daytona and went home to trade the trike in on the Vic. Said it was great to be back on two wheels. Looking forward to the new one, almost hate to see the Vegas go. There'll be a few more Vics in my future, God willing. JB2 |

I've spent some time on the Victory Board (www.thevmc.com). The maintenance/repairs seems to be minimal. Several people there have over 100,000 miles on their Vics with no major repairs. The more I find out about Victory, the more I want one. I'm thinking a Cross Country for touring and everyday and then an XB12 for more spirited riding. I really don't ride aggressive at all but once in a while it's just fun to lean a little. |

For those considering a Victory now, look at the VMC board referenced above (www.thevmc.com). There is a seperate forum for every model, just like BADWEB. There will probably be a VMC charter club near you (70 clubs nationwide). Great people and fun group rides, and people that can help with any question you have. As I said, my club was the Victory Riders of South Florida, a VMC charter. We just held our 6th annual charity ride to Key West in November, Victory for Veterans (benefitting the Fallen Heroes Fund). |
