Nice 4 page article in Motorcyclist January issue magazine. They build the ultimate XB. Even Erik give approval of the bike. |

Yeah, read that whole thing- given the parts list, that's a SCHWEEET setup!! I've yet to see an STT, with the side plates, etc, actually turn out looking right though... Don't remember that bike around Alpine or East Troy during HC- did it ever make it down from Blackhawk? I'd love to get an SS or STT and have things built to convert from hooligan bike to tourer... |

They threw some money at that bike along with the usual suspects. Hals, Drummer, American Sportbike... The suspension and brake work was the most interesting along with the slipper clutch though. Not sure if it was the same magazine that did a cheap used bike section the previous month, but I was surprised not to see a Buell in there. Instead there was a Ducati, a Moto Guzzi and some other's that were not what I would consider cheap... |

This bike was at the homecoming track day. It was out on the track all day mixing it up on the Uly tires. |

I would like to ride a 12 that has had 9 pistons dropped in it. I would like to see what the seat of the pants dyno has to say.... |

I don't know; you know how those Buells are. You can't ride them for any distance (Terri got the Long Distance Trophy (Open Class)at the Guzzi Rally in Oregon). And they're not comfortable, we only averaged 500 - 600 miles per day from Oregon back to Massachusetts. However, we had to throw a ton of money at the bike. Every 150 miles or so, we had to stop and put more gas in it! |

Yeah, youse guys got some sano setups. Coming from the 9SX, the 2nd gen XB frame would be just a little roomier, a little more motor. Mebbe better even with some bar risers and Uly hardware. I was wondering about dropping those "9" pistons in too... |

I bought a STT that already had 9 pistons in it, shortly after I had 9s put into my firebolt. butt dyno says worth it! |

I read the article, and was thoroughly unimpressed. A little engine work, chain drive, and Ohlins suspension. Oh boy, "Ultimate XB". |

I got my issue yesterday in the mail and I thought it was a nice bike...It was not like a hillbilly motors bike or anything but it was still a nice bike to me. |

The comment in the article above the pic of the bike said something like "the color combo is a tribute to its Harley d heritage" was a bit of a slap in the face, I thought. |

panhead - man it is what it is, buells started (not including the RW750) using HD motors. Harley is part of Buells heritage. |
