Yes it is that time of the year when we all gathering at work for a community feast of each others home cooking and a chance to chat with people we usually only see in passing all year long. Faced with the usual choices of bringing cheese and cracker platters, meatballs and salads in all their variety I come to you with a plea for something unique, something tasty, something that will stand out on the table and be noticed. Something that reflects the Buelling fanatic perhaps? I don't need your receipe - just a suggestion for something cool. (No Okra please!) |

OK, need more details. For how many? Does it have to be cold or are there reheating facilities? How complicated do you want to get? How much of an impression do you want to create? How are your cookery skills? One of my favourites is "Salmon en Croute" dead easy to make & looks impressive as hell. Eats just as well cold or hot. Lots of recipes on the net. details - I want to make about 20 small sized servings (everyone brings a platter of food to share so its finger foods really) The food can be kept and served hot or cold ahead of time. (there are no steamer trays or ice beds to keep it hot/cold when being served, but I have a fridge and microwave & oven to keep the food in from when we get in to work in the morning until lunch) I am pretty good in the kitchen (wish I was as good on the track!) and enjoy cooking. I want to put out a good spread for these people I like so the dish can be a pretty involved effort. |

Bob - this may not meet your needs (serve hot), but here you go. Brought this in at last pot luck - the mob cleaned the pan right out. Recipe based on crawfish, but shrimp will work too...Not diet friendly. |

In the winter months I'm always a big fan of soups/stews/chowders but seeing as how its more of a finger food type thing thats kinda out of the question. Something similar to this http://www.food.com/recipe/bacon-wrapped-jalapeno- poppers-105670 has always been popular for me. The only real difference in how I make them is that I mix the cream cheese and cheddar cheese rather than sprinkle the cheddar on top. |

+1 on Grumpy's suggestion. Anything with a flaky crust and salmon on, in, or around it will be a winner. |

1 block of cream cheese 1 can of Ro-Tel (drained) 1 Jimmy Dean sausage 1 bag of tortilla chip. Breakup and brown the sausage in a frying pan. Add the Ro-Tel and melt in the cream cheese. Done. |

I have had good reviews for my pasta salad with scallops and bacon. Drop me a note if you need the recipe. |

Cup cakes decorated with Buell logo/color. I did this for work, with WV and MD logos. All the icing can be bought at your local supermarket. Meatballs in a crock pot are easy. There are a couple of recipes that use grape jelly, that are fantastic. Deviled eggs, easy to hard boil the eggs, difficult to make the deviling part. Ham salad or crab dip with crackers. There are many versions of both. The crab dip can be made with real or imitation crab meat. Summer sausage - deer meat. Best of luck. |

If there are many women attending take a cherry cheese cake. You'll be a hit. G |

Cheesecake... true, or also simply open a bag of peanut M&M's into a fancy looking dish. |

Do what Grumps says. Smoked salmon/ "lox" with dill cream cheese, some wasabi paste for stunts, mebbe another good fish/shrimp/non-fisheater setup optional. Veggies and dip, with simple prep, easy too. How bout a fondue setup? |
