For many of us, it is the motorcycle itself that lures us into the trap of being part of the Buell family. Once the trap has sprung, your eyes open to a wonderful sub-culture within the motorcycle world that is truly passionate and innovative in their thinking and way of life.
It's not about simply supporting Erik and riding whatever he decides to build. Most Buellers are just as critical as they are supportive. It's about being a part of the 200 year plan and seeing the American spirit in action.
I've had more fun in the last two years of motorcycling than I have had in a long, long time. I've met some really wonderful people and have made some really great friends over the last couple of years. Never had that same experience with any other brand.
2006 Buell XB9SX 8995 +ttl Off road conversions and luggage 1500 Dual sport camping trip 350 Suprising the hell out of BMW Riders/Zuk Dual Sporters.... Priceless.
It is the most fun bike I have ever had. All of the mishaps were self inflected from riding the bike off road, outta bounds. Damn fun machine. Had I known... I never woulda bought the XL.
I was just wondering because I never seen it before and I thought I knew about all of the production model buells that have came out in the last 27 years.
IIRC the 12SX was available as a late 09-10 model- got to see one at my local shop once, pretty nice all around, with the big motor, clear plastics, updates, etc.
I guess it was one of the last "new" models available before BMC was axed.
Umm, are you sure Froggy? I could've sworn I saw one here... of course, when they went to the darker frame for the whole model line, deleting the silver XB9 frame paint, the only easy visual clues were the badges and the size of the headers- maybe I just saw a 9SX while thinking about the 12SX, given the excitement of new models...
Here is a good comparison Saintly is on his 848 and Jay is filming him on an xb12ss all the others are Buells. The Duc is a great machine but the tank is only good for about 75-80 miles I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvEV3TMLrMo
