Don't know if anyone has posted this already? If so, sorry for the duplicate post. Does anybody find this kind of offensive. HD is still using pics of Buell's to promote and lure people into their dealers. { |

Well, when you don't have anything else out there to lure them in, you gotta go with what works. To bad there are none in the dealers for people to look at. |

to add another twist to your panties, the Lightnings were never used for Riders Edge, it was the Blast.... which was cubed by the Mother ship ad copy. (that couldn't have been more foretelling) |

Did ya stop to think that maybe, just maybe the graphics artist is a Buell fan, and puts Buell in everything they can get away with?

The blue Lightning may have been in Riders Edge. Check out the header dents at the collector and higher up one the front cylinder header. Looks dented to me |

No, I think it's just the extra lighting from the side of the road. But I know what you mean. The Blast I rode in R.E. had the signals and mirrors broken off. Not taken off, broken off. |

Buells are still in the training aides (videos) I asked our chief if HD was remaking them to get the Buells out. The above ad is pretty funny since the sporty line had a couple of new models 48 and R1200 to capture the younger men. And the lowered sporty to capture the women. Last Rider's Edge class I had it was 4 guys and 6 women, this weekend coming up the class is even. HD is doing a good job at attracting the women market. |

I can't believe you are still having classes. We shut down mid to late October |

Yeah I have this weekend and another one in December. I teach at the #1 RE dealer in the nation #1 in with the number of students it enrolls. They brag about it all of the time because they beat out Florida! Christmas money! Its the only reason I stay with RE I make more money longer into the year. I only teach 3 months for them March, November, and December. |

and if anybody can help with this the Blasts have an extremely high idle in the cold. I'm thinking the Mechanics set idle high for easier starting. |

My local dealer found out they have more people coming and going during weekends that have Riders Edge classes happening. So next season we are going to have a single class every weekend vs doing doubles every other We may still run doubles during peak if the demand calls for it |

they do idle high when the motor is cold, but if the dealership switches to lighter oil in the winter, they shouldn't have tor raise i idle. I wounder if they are raising the idle to avoid changing cracked carb boots. |

Wolf, I hate doubles I did them when I was younger but not anymore. I worked for another dealer who had a lot of events going on for their customers too and that was a pain in the A** I kind of got fired from that one, no loss there. They were running an event in my classroom and I had 3 hours of Unit 4 to do and I asked them to leave and they wouldn't so I raised a stink, and promptly collected my pay check the following Monday Crackhead thanks for the info they take a couple of minutes to warm up very high idle then still hang at about 2 grand all day. |

they need to get the service guys to replace the carb boots and then set the idle correctly. Now since the bikes are "track only" bikes, have them rejet to #45 and go 2.5 turns out from bottom on the idle mixture screw. If they don't want to rejet, doing the idle mixture screw will make a big difference in cold weather and idle quality. FYI: this is no difference from what they do for customer's bikes. Dam 2k idle, you probably have a lot of riders making the bikes jump off the line. (Message edited by crackhead on November 15, 2010) (Message edited by crackhead on November 15, 2010) |

yeah we do I had a lady crash just coming out of the staging area last weekend the let the clutch out the bike jumped and crash down onthe ground right next to me. When I un-stage them in cold weather I have the students turn them on and let run for a little until I hear the idles start to go down. Then I start getting them out. I complained to the PM about it. I'm going to copy and paste your suggestion to him. K |
