All I did was add (Political) to about 4 dozen threads. I didn't even move any pages, which is what screwed it up last time. | ||

Kinda sorta, the backfire board but things had to degenerate into a slanging match before the subject got moved & not possible to post a thread direct to it. I'm all for a separate board, ADVrider have Church,State & Money section, seems to work there. | ||

Funny, I've been pushing for that for a while... While a new section would bring its own problems that need to be dealt with, I am sure it will work out for the better. | ||

I like having all the funny stuff re: politics, religion etc' on the Quick Board 'cause it means I only have to visit one site to read it all! However, I can see the benefits inherent in having it separate from other material. (Does this prevarication make me a wishy, washy "liberal"?) YES: I have been drinking! Chris C | ||

We need a separate (political/ religious) section... would do a world of good for Quick Board... Is there enough traffic to warrant a political/religious section? I have my doubts, especially once you quarantine those discussions off to their own area. Politics covers such a broad spectrum that many threads wind up with political content. Do they then get moved to die? I really don't see the point. What's important is eyes on adds. That brings in advertising $$$. We are a MC board with discussions by motorcyclists. We are the ones that advertisers want seeing their adds. Do they care it we see them in a political thread or a thread on music? I seriously doubt it. As long as people conduct themselves with a reasonable level of civility, I don't see the problem. This applies in all threads. BTW, what happens next time some state wants to ban aftermarket exhausts? Is that MC related or political? The answer is yes, but with political speech doomed to yet another non-MC area, all of those threads will have to go. Consider the unintended consequences. | ||

Many "political" threads didn't start that way. There are few actual political threads. Their volume come in fits and spurts. Once threads are moved to the "political" section, the discussion stops. If you don't like political discussions, avoid obvious political threads. Most of the people complaining about political discussions spend most of their time on BW participating in political threads. Have some self control and self governance. | ||

Many "political" threads didn't start that way. I think that is the problem... anyhow, my computer has been acting like cr*p since the election day, what did you do to it fatty? keeps freezing up... and I am waiting until I have a year on the job to look into a new one (3 months from now) aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgggggghhhhhh... | ||

I think that is the problem... anyhow, my computer has been acting like cr*p since the election day, what did you do to it fatty? z Since Steve Jobs and Bill Gates have their Republican corporate masters to answer to, they have been pressed to identify all leftist Apple and PC users and degrade their ability to access the internet. The Chinese taught them and Iran how to do it. Unless you are going to control speech and thought on a discussion board, it's going to be hard to prevent threads from taking political detours. Part of what we have been doing is marking them "political" so that you can see the political ones and avoid them. | ||

BadWeB was down? I guess I have a partial life or a new hobby going on, I didn't know. Must be the hunting thing. I hope is all is well with BadWeB! I just did a disc clean up that really has helped. Had a lot of temp file start-up crap that must have been loading it down. | ||
