I've gamed on a PC - I did do a COD game on it, though I can't remember if I used the keyboard and mouse or a controller. Every other game I've done on a PC has been flight simulators, and keybords such as your only control interface, and the mouse isn't good fit, either.
I think the main problem I've always had with trying to use a mouse is the sensitivity changes based on how fast you move. If that were to stay constant I'd say it'd be better.
The only thing I game on anymore is a PS3, and generally do online gaming exclusively, so everyone is using the same handicap.
I guess my point is, I like the Kinect and move and Wii if you just want to goof around with friends and stuff. But I like to just chill on my couch and play most of the time. And if I want to "go through the motions" of a FPS, I'll just grab my shotgun and hit the skeet fields or get into paintball or something, lol.
One of the best features of BF1942 was how easy it is to enter and exit vehicles. There are all kinds of crazy videos online of people doing stunts like jumping a tank over a bridge, bailing out, landing in a flying plane, and looping around to destroy the tank before it lands.
There is a mod for the game called Desert Combat, which basically replaces the jeeps and Panzers with more modern vehicles like Humvees and F-18.
I have all the DLC save the latest release. Haven't had time to get back into it. I have all four characters maxed and all of the achievements for Zombie Island and Mad Moxis. (Hated Mad Moxis BTW... takes FOREVER.)
Kinda like Halo? Crackdown? Final Fantasy? Every game is unrealistic in one way or another. Battlefield just does it easy to access vehicles.
I tried Battlefield 1943 demo on the 360 recently. It looks great, it is a shame the controls on it are terrible. At least Halo is playable because they did a lot of work refining the joysticks, but EA dropped the ball with 1943.
Unfortunately, I've been too busy to game recently (stupid homework). I am a casual console gamer, and I like controllers and can't wait for this motion control fad to go away. Thanks to another thread post, I am on the hunt for Steel Batallion and its EPIC controller!
squids, there is/was an old school arcade at a pizza joint in some border town in Iowa or Minnesota. It might not even be there anymore, I was there about 20 years ago, and the games were old back then, I remember a lot of them being black&white.
Just got home and picked up the Xbox 360S and Kinect bundle... I am sweating my @ss off. It came with Kinect Adventures, that's an ok game. I picked up Dance Central thinking it would be fun to play when no one else is around... I was wrong...
That is prolly the best game so far. We are almost toasted drunk, and having an absolute blast. If you do give the system a try... pick up Dance Central!
