If he's not, you can be certain he will find this and read it. I'm sure they have spiders crawling the web for certain key words. Either that or a group of slaves doing it manually like the rest of us.
I agree with Ratbuell, it's a rebuilt 2008. What I really find interesting is that it has the rear brake light, rear turn signals, side reflectors, bar-end mirrors, license plate and tail. However, it has the reverse flow radiators and upper fairing without headlights. Is this a bike that was he's streetbike but is converting over to a track bike or is he going to complete the front end with headlights and turn signals?
Interesting. . . Just glad he seems to be as excited about Buells as we are. This was a great plug for Erik and Erik Buell Racing.
Has anyone checked them out on facebook or twitter? Maybe someone could try to ask him if he's a fellow badwebber. I don't use either one of those social wonders and don't plan to!
Well if itis Jamies personal bike from a couple seasons ago, it is a street bike with goodies.
My guess from a production standpoint is, they used the upper fairing so the headlights wouldn't spotlight the camera and ruin the frames. And mythbusters fans would write in "your bikes headlights were not on and they are always on when a bike runs so you obviously faked all the shots and didn't turn on your bike..."
I just love that the bike wasn't just "on" the show. It was placed in the majority of the shots, and they took time to introduce it and talk about it. Usually they cover the dodge or ford logos with gaff tape and ignore vehicles - the bike was not only introduced, but just about every shot had a Buell or Erik Buell Racing logo in clear sight.
It's a no-brainer to us that we'd rather see more sport-bikes rather than Choppers, but we may need to educate Discovery about that.
I think an actual show about Erik Buell Racing would be beyond cool . . . and I don't see why something like that couldn't happen, but it's much more likely to happen if we ask for it (and again, it's obvious to us that something like that would make a great show, but the top people at Discovery don't know much about these things so we'll have to educate them), so please drop them a line if you haven't already.
I'm not worried about if its a dsb or street bike. I'm still waiting for someone to explain the BMW rotors and breaks on the bike that whizzed by the screen in the beginning

It is just a photoshop. There probably is a dozen reasons for it, majority of them being legal reasons. If you look again it was completely debadged including the rider's helmet and jacket.
I realize it is a Photoshop and it was debadaged and all the legal mumbo jumbo. My questions is why every thing else is the same except the ZTL braking system?
My guess is the 1190rs wont have the ZTL system at all.
Probably changed it a bit due to legal reasons. Using the picture may violate various Buell copyrights, as it is a picture from Buell. I say "may", because it is a press photo intended for distribution, but copyrights are never simple.
sound like they love the Erik Buell Racing show idea!!!
