Is anyone watching this show? It is really good. It's about time they came up with an interesting show about Motorcycle Enthusiasts that wasn't about stunters or heavy cruisers. There are some really cool bikes on the show and some are custom builds. If you have not seen it I highly recommend you check it out. It's on HD Theatre and here is a link to promo video for the series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKFtrbellCA It's on at 9 Eastern on Wednesdays. |

I've been watching - great stuff and it may do for Cafe Racer's what all of the chopper shows did for that style of custom bikes (most aren't really choppers) |

If you're right Scott I better find an old honda twin soon before the prices go through the roof. I've wanted to do one for a long time but haven't had the means(shop and tools) |

Good donor bikes are getting harder to find. parts seem to in good supply ie. tanks and seats etc. A good winter project for a hobbyist to tackle. |

I've been watching. Love the subject matter, but not thrilled with the presentation. Then again, I feel the same way about sports that I love on TV these days. I must be turning into grumpy old man. |

Would never have expected Billy Joel to be into Cafe Racers. |

And another thing...since almost every Buell is a cafe racer I think every show should be about Buell motorcycles. |

Ryca sent me an email a few days ago that they have firmed up pricing on their kits. Also note the extensive use of a CMOS based camera in the video above, probably a GoPro HD. Lots of nice jello from those shots. |

It great to have another motorcycle show on the tube that is aimed at the enthusiasts, not the squids. |

Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to check it out. A guy at work owns a '75 or so CB750 with around 17,000 miles on the clock. Beautiful bike. But, the guy is a real prick. Tried to talk to him one time. He might ride it to work maybe twice a year. Man, I so wish I could take it out for a spin just for old times sake! |

Just caught two episodes, now my favorite TV program next to AMA racing. Gonna give up my age here but, "been there done that". I probably was one of the few "rockers" in the Chicago area in the '60's & '70's. Started with a nice '66 BSA Hornet (no picture) then graduated to the two shown below. A '70 HD Sportster with 86 cu. in. motor, oil in frame, mag wheels, three disc brakes, DeLorto duel draft carb, and cafe style glass. Second endeavor was a CB 750 Honda with 1000cc kit, Weber carbs, hot cam and bi-centennial glass colors. I was called "nuts" by some. Sorry about the picture quality but that was then. Fast forward to 2010 and this is now; I'm still a rocker with what I tried to build in the '70's, Eriks fine 1125 bikes. Thanks to him I'm still living and riding what I love. And still called "nuts" by some who think I'm just too old to ride my fine 1125R. See profile picture. Rockin' on, Bob

I wouldn't pay no never mind to that rag. I mean, some of the ne're do wells that they cover are simply beyond the pale.
Am I right?

Bob Thompson, you are one cool rocker. I love all three of your bikes. Do you have any idea if your two cafe bikes have survived? |

Mark(Rasta_dog), I really do not know. I sold the Honda to a local guy and the HD went to the now famous Walnecks Classic cycles. I tried to contact him and he finally replied and said he did not remember our transaction. It was at a trade show in McCormack place in Chicago in about 1975. I've never seen them since. Kind of glad I moved on to the ultimate Sport(cafe racer)bike. Thanks Erik. One last item; a 350cc turboed Honda cafe type (below)I was going to run at Bonneville after I had moved out here in '82. It would have taken a record with any speed attained, as it was the only supercharged 350cc in the class. I clocked it at about 120mph on a local road, but alas Bonneville was rained out two years in a row and I never hit the dry lakes in Calif. Also sold here after I returned it to stock. Rock on mates.
