Here you can be convicted of intoxicated crimes on other stuff besides booze. Just got a guilty on a homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. No booze in her system but did have THC.
My concern is the contact buzz if it becomes legal. I have never had a contact buzz from booze. |

I've never had a contact buzz from pot, and I've been to my share of concerts and would hang out in a small bedroom with my two roommates and watch TV while they'd smoke up. |

I guess if I am not doing anything real technical for my job I can get away with getting high? How about a school bus driver?? I mean..if it becomes legal.., what the hay!
Anything other than clean air/oxygen is bad for your lungs and brain. |

How do you measure a "trace" of THC? Does it not stay in your system longer than alcohol?? (maybe there are more accurate tests now, I have no idea)
A non-drinker can walk by an alcoholic or into a bar or visit a drinking friends home and leave without any trace of alcohol on them. Go to work the next day and (if required) pass a drug screen.
Will a non-smoker be able to do the same thing? (replace alcohol with weed)

I don't know the specifics of how THC is metabolized. Any number of substances will get us a three year suspension of a school bus permit if it can just be detected in a pee test. It's pretty much a zero tolerance policy for us. |

The only way weed will ever be "legal" is when they ban tobacco everywhere, then just lump the two together into one very restricted and highly taxed activity. I thought about this years ago.
On the boardwalk...there are designated areas for tobacco smokers. I guess there will have to be another area for potheads.

You obviously weren't with me and my buddies at a Rush or Aerosmith concert in the early 80's...
Got dropped off by my buddies KEWWWLLL parents with the arrangement to pick us back up after the show- yeah, we had a buzz.
Might try that today at a Goose Creek show, I dunno.

I'm not going to read this whole thread.
I voted no on Prop 19. What makes anybody think that another tax revenue stream is going to change anything? California pisses away every penny we send them.
I have cast my final California ballot. No on 19. Whitman for Governor. Libertarian down the line for everything else. |

It dosen't matter what they do in California as long as there remains a federal law against it. Until the federal law is changed to de-criminalize it, marijuana will still be prosecuted by the feds. |

Ask Arizona, if it makes sense on any level, the federal government will oppose it.
This thing may have made sense to some Californians, as did the illegal migration defense initiative in Arizona. But the federal government spent much valuable energy fighting it even when ignorant of it's details.
There is no better example of why Harry, Barry and Nancy have got to go ! |
