>>>I think Blank is cut from the same fabric as many of those in upper management of H-D. Harley-Davidson tried "racing by committee" for 15 years and pissed away over $50,000,000. The ONLY thing they ever had to show for it was a 52 minute pit stop at Daytona. Smart racing is good racing. Erik Buell, and the Team at Erik Buell Racing, would love to take on anyone in the world on a level playing field. Last year . . for the first time in a long time . . .motorcycle racing was fun. I attribute most of that, in terms of the big picture, to DMG. Personally . . . seeing some of the "big names" owned by a Buell is always fun for me. Danny Eslick made racing the most fun I can remember since the days of the Sacramento Mile. Geoff May follows suite and marshals one of the most amazing, and steadiest, seasons I've ever seen. How cool was it to see May pass someone and the pit crew of the "passee" leaping and cheering Geoff on??? American ingenuity, creativity and industriousness is due for a rebirth. I hope Buell is a big part of it. |

Eslick was a riot to watch! Huge chances, over the edge, but holding it together. You just have to root for him! May is a precision machine... He did exactly what he needed to do this year, which is lock in solid finish after solid finish, with incremental and repeatable gains. We are lucky to have had both of them, and Geoff is absolutely the right man for the season, though I would sure love to see him and Danny both competing on 1190's next season. My kids are already bugging me asking how long until we go back to Mid Ohio next year.... |

was great seeing Eslick do so well this year, sickening last season when such a great rider was overshadowed by all the 'double displacement' nonsense |

Great reading, thanks for the link. The cubed Blast on the Salt Flats makes a strong statement. I'm still mulling that image over... I think I'd really like it as a poster in my garage. |

Just read the article. "The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades". Looking forward even more to BTF this weekend. "Winter Sales"... Hey Erik- once upon a time, I was the "Buell guy" here in Mur-vil...
