I just PCS to Pensacola and I cant find a twisty road to save my life. Even the roads following the beaches are straight. Any one know where I can find a curve? thanks |

There are some good roads in Pasco County and Polk County, but that is a bit far for you...being in Pensicola, you might want to head north...I've never been up that way other than on I-10 so I don't know...try googling "curvy roads in florida" there are a bunch of suggestions, maybe some are near you....if you are ever in the I-4 corridor area between Tampa and Orlando...give me a holler...I know some killer roads. |

There is a little piece of road in north Pasco called Istachatta....it's not real long, but it is FUN...excellent surface, no sand or other such stuff!!! And it's not the only curvy road in that area. In Florida, most curvy roads are there because of lakes or wetlands....in my immediate area there are a LOT of small lakes....hence a lot of curvy roads...none of them are very long....but if you string a bunch of them together with short hops between it is fun... But I do plan to take Jezebel and Huligun both to a little town in Georgia this spring (Message edited by fast1075 on October 12, 2010) |

Never leave the beach. At least that way you will have something to look at. more than a mile off the beach and you might as well be in Kansas.

I drove back from Pensacola to SC a few years ago and somewhere east of Pensacola (within the first 70 miles or so) I had to detour off I-10 to the south due to a huge wreck. I don't know what the road was but I remember thinking "this wouldn't be a bad motorcycle riding road at all". Nothing like real twisties but some nice curves and very nice scenery. There's also a rest area off I-10 in that area that is seriously hilly. There must be some curves in that area. |

You have to come a little east of the panhandle to get into some really good roads, I live about 4 hours from Pensacola and there are some pretty good roads this way. |
