Prostitutes can kiss your wife in public?

Consolidation of Federal power scares me and seems like an obvious direction.

Who is trustworthy to edit & update (overhaul!) the law?

Consider; US credit/currency strength is/was a result of Country's measured system of law and relatively predictable environment it provides.

Consolidation of Federal Power is what the framers sought to avoid at all costs.

Hence Article 1, Section 8 and The Tenth Amendment.

The States have a trump card if they'll use it. Right now 35 of the necessary 38 are on board. We only need 3 more.

Not for more laws, as such, just a mechanism to eliminate bad laws. You think you can do that without making it a law?

One way would take a Constitutional change, the House could only pass laws with a 2/3 majority, and the Senate could eliminate laws with a 1/3 minority. If as much as a third don't like a law, try retooling it until it's good.

But that will never happen. I submit you need to give the illusion of more power to get Congress to go along with my law cancelling group idea. ( from above ) You have to make it desirable for Congressmen to serve on such a group, and the only way to do that is to give it good publicity when it strikes down bad or stupid laws. That way they want to do good things and get credit for their wisdom. ( even if they are as crappy at their jobs as ( fill in your least fav. dude ).

Might as well go for open season on lawyers, is 2 a large enough limit? We want to thin the herd, not send lawyers the way of the passenger pigeon...... or do we?

I submit we need lawyers for some things. I would support a ban on lawyers in govt. service in Congress.....or just no more Harvard & Yale grads....the last couple have been less than stellar in the Prez. job.

I don't think the article was referring to archaic laws which may still be on the books. The article is referring to current laws and regs which hamper business and the entrepreneurial spirit.

As a side note, kissing a prostitute on the street and not your wife would actually be a benefit to the small business owner (the prostitute).

…and the lawyers, perhaps even the doctors. What a trade-off!

Nice video, Aesquire, and oh so true.

Mine is less serious and shorter, but you get the idea. There are some bad words here (NSFW), but since we are talking about politicians...

just a rehash of a local arguement I got into with a friend. At what point does passing multi THOUSAND page Bills into law without READING them become Taxation with Representation?

Last time we nixed the regime, this time we seem satiated with just watching Jersey Shore.
