I just got this email too. I don't know why since I can't get it here. Isn't #3, one of the reasons the US, and the world, is digging themselves out a big hole? Nice promo pic, though. One quick note: a new credit card game I just fell for. (just so you know it's as much the credit card co as HD) They set the billing date to a weekend. You set your EFT to the date. It doesn't get processed until the Monday. First time I've paid interest in 15 years. Watch for it and note #2 above, they now add a $2 fee when charging interest, go figure. |

Deleted it, didn't even bother to open it up. Anything from HD in my inbox doesn't even get looked at. |

HD doesn't know my address. How do they know your addresses? You told them, didn't you? It baffles me when people ahead of me in line at a store like Borders books or CVS give the cashier their Email address. You wouldn't give it out to random people on the street, would you? I received some credit card BS via snailmail. I didn't open it. Things like that go to the fireplace. |

Any credit card is evil Not so, when the POS truck has blown up, the trucking company you work for is going down the swannee, the agent has impounded the rig, & you're 3 countries & a time zone away from home, it's a very comforting feeling to have your own little rectangular lifeboat. Trust me on this. |

Any credit card is evil Yes, inherently so. I used to have a Chevron gas card, but when I dumped the trucks I got rid of that. Now I just have one Mastercard... just in case. I have a motorcycle loan and a phone bill. Soon to be a mortgage also, but right now I'm debt-free other than the bike note. Even though I'm essentially poor right now, not having a huge number hanging over my head is really nice. Grumpy has a very valid point, and it's nice to be able to get myself out of a bind instead of calling people in the middle of the night and asking them to wire money. |

The 24% interest rate plus 3% origination fee on cash advances is sickening. Then if you are a day late with payment, they'll charge an exorbitant late fee. It is a near criminal racket, one that ensnares way too many good folks. |

The rich get richer by playing the money game. Learn the game. I bought my bike with a credit card and did not make any payment for over 18 months. A few years back, they kept sending out offers of interest free for 9 months, or so. I bought with one, did two more balance transfers for about 6 months each. When they dried up, I moved all my loans to a 2% account. The bike payment is not even seen in the savings I make with the interest difference. Credit cards are for short term needs, not long term. People have to understand the difference between need and want. I don't see any advantage with this card, except the "cool" factor. I'd rather have the Batman card but I have to live in Asia to get that. |

The rich get richer by playing the money game. Learn the game. +1 I don't really see anything out of line with what many other credit card companies do. I assume all of this is within the guidelines just set up with the new credit protection legislation that was just passed. I've never carried credit card debt for longer than a month. It's the worst kind of debt you can have where they won't break your knees. |

"I received some credit card BS via snailmail. I didn't open it. Things like that go to the fireplace." Your doing it wrong. Take unwanted junk mail from company "A" and unwanted junk mail from company "B" open together, switch contents and mail back to said companies in THEIR POSTAGE PAID envelopes and help keep the economy going. PO has to deliver it, companies have to have someone to open it...but then again the PO did come up several billion short...let me rethink this. |

I opened it up just so I could unsubscribe from all future H-D e-mails. I've got a B of A Signature Visa and hate B of A. I'd like another Signature Visa, but it more certainly won't have ANYTHING to do with the Bar 'n' Shield . . . |

The offers are probably in that spam file. It's up to 402 per week right now. I use the return envelopes in the snail mail offers to send everything back in. |

Gas cards are handy. My Discover gives 5% back at ALL gas stations. $20 in the tank = $1 back in my pocket. I'm going to spend the money anyway, why not spend it with the Discover, then just pay it off in full every month? If all Discover cardholders practiced my spending habits, they'd be out of business in no time. |

The greed and laziness of people is the ultimate evil. If you can't pay cash for your purchases, and if you have no credit and refuse to wait, then you have to look inward for your blame. Should I blame McDonald's or KFC for my inability to control my "need" for food with such high fat and low nutrition? (some people think so) Should I blame Sony for my wanting to sit on the couch and watch TV instead of DOING something? (some people think so) Should I blame the bank because I "needed" to buy a house a few years back on an ARM? (some people think so) Don't know who is responsible for all this but it is certainly NOT ME. |
