So here I am, getting ready for my walk this weekend. I am so totally excited to be doing this!! I jump on a plane tomorrow afternoon headed to BWI so I can take part in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk in Washington, DC. A 3 day, 60 mile walk to help raise awareness and money to help fight breast cancer. And, if it wasn't for many of you fine Badwebbers, I may not have been able to raise enough money to go. Donations from Badwebbers made up most of my fund rasing efforts!! And for that, THANK YOU! Thank you very much to those who gave. If you have not, and want to, they will be accepting donations for this walk over the next 4 weeks. You can go to www.the3day.org/goto/russ_tyson to make a tax deductible donation. If you live in, or are going to be in the DC area this weekend.. Come cheer us on!!! You can find the cheering stations if you follow the above link, select the "Get Involved" pulldown, then spectator information for the Washington DC walk. The opening ceremonies will be held at the Washington Nationals stadium at 7am. I will be holding the "My Sister" flag during the opening and closing ceremonies! Closing ceremonies will be held at the Washington Monument grounds on Sunday October 10th at 5pm. There are cheering stations all around that you can find on the page. And again.. Thank you so very much for your support. It really does mean a lot to me!! |

just a thought since we were talking about bad neighborhoods. instead of walking thru a desert wher no one sees, how about going to a bad neighborhood, and America can see the cancer that is eating bad neighborhoods. |

My responce to that would be: Why put people who are already putting themselves and their health second to raising money for breast cancer research in even more jeopardy by making them walk through a "bad neighborhood" unarmed? |

My wife and daughter did the Duluth to St. Paul MS 150 bike ride this year. I helped with support for the ride. |
