Heading off to Southern China tomorrow. It'll be a short fast trip (be back Sunday) but thought I'd ask if anyone wanted me to pick up anything for them. You know they make just about everything and the prices are hard to beat. I don't like to check baggage so it will have to fit in a carry on. |

So much for your chemistries and technology remaining proprietary. |

Thanks, there's always that risk but we've been at this game for many years with licensees and partners in many countries including China. I don't place trust in their integrity but I do place a good deal of confidence in our ability to formulate and supply in such a way that it becomes near impossible to re-engineer. The original post was meant to be tounge-in-cheek. I'll have to work on that. |

If I have a hankering for something made in China, I'll just pick it up from my local wal-mart. Or anywhere else for that matter. *sigh* |

How about some of that sweet and sour chicken. That stuff must be really good when you get it from the homeland. Kinda like beer from Germany right? |

Ok, that's two brides, one domestic, one export model, some cash, a tea set, and sweet and sour chicken. Fellas, I am going to need a hold harmless agreement (tea set may possibly be exempt) and a drop off point for these items. Note to Wolf, you may want to let me know the best day and time as well. We wouldn't want a cultural misunderstanding between your new mate and any existing entanglements. Bcordb3 may or may not have some valuable experience in this area. Anything else? |

I need to apologize to all of you with the possible exception of Doughnut and Wolfridgerider (more on their stuff in a minute). Unfortunately I completely failed to get your requested items. I don't offer an excuse but I do have an explanation that may afford me an opportunity to make it up to you all on the next trip. This trip was about 100 total hours split fairly evenly between travel and non-travel. Saturday afternoon was free time and I decided to get things rolling with a quick cider at Delaney's in Kowloon. What a pleasant surprise to learn that the Australian Rules Football Grand Final was just about to start on TV so I decided to settle in for the pre-game show(Inxs kicked things off). It is a terrific sport and the game was exciting with a come from behind effort that ended the match in a draw. That's right, a tie with no overtime of any type. They will replay the game this Saturday. Wow, I love that. Anyhow that burned up about three hours of available time so I shoved off and took the ferry over to Hong Kong to see if I could come up with any requested items. I will spare you the details but let's just say I didn't get any shopping done. However I may have met Wolf's mail order bride later that evening. I was walking back to my hotel when this friendly outgoing young lady approached me. She did not mention Wolf by name but seemed excited about the possibility of contact with men from the US. I declined her kind offers of assistance but did confirm her name is Jenni, that she hails from the Philippines, and was in Kowloon visiting her sisters. I offered to give her your info Wolf but she left rather abruptly. Hopefully you two are working things out. That's about it except something kind of interesting came up at the Chinese factory. This factory's production is exclusive to a US company that sells trims and packaging primarily for the garment industry. They are excited about one of their new US clients we Buellers know oh so well. I told them to stock up on black and orange. Oh yes, Doughtnut, PM me a shipping address and I'll send your very nice ninja/pirate keyring out right away. |
