Okay so when i am riding my 1125r and getting tucked the back of my helmet pushes into the collar on my jacket. both are about due for replacement at any time now. back ground; im 6-1 240ish dressed to ride. currently my summer jacket is a tourmaster GX Air and i where a Shoei RF1000 lid. i like the fit on my noggin of the Shoei and the jacket is a collarlessish design. i have this issue with the jacket alone and it gets worse when i have my vest and or backpack on. I am looking for suggestions for both. |

looking for suggestions on gear that wont pinch at the back of my neck when i am riding. it makes it we where i have to push back on my neck harder than i like when leaves me tense. it also interferes with shoulder checks as the jacket and helmet hang on each other |

Put ape-hangers on your bike and you won't have that problem. Otherwise, I got nuthin'. I imagine you'll have to go to the nearest Cycle Gear or whatever and give them all a try. What works for some, won't work for others. |

Ok I get it. All helmets are gonna be about the same as far as rear coverage. If the shoei fits your head good, stick with it and try different jackets with different collars. I have a shark rsr2 and a rsx before that with the Buell adventure jacket and Buell mesh jacket and a scorpion leather. I don't have that issue with any of those combinations. |

not seriously but i did think about apes on the way home today. i even thought about having the collar completely removed from the GX air i currently have but that's prolly gonna cost enough to but new. there is a cycle gear here so i will have to stop in and see what they've got and start saving my change |

im having my wife sew some belt loops to a matching zipper to the one at the back/bottom of the jacket. this should keep things in place while riding in a normal riding position or even full tucked. i dunno if your tourmaster has one there, but if not, one could easly be sewed in. |

+1 on jacket tie downs but Ill add that my shoei hangs lower than my shark lid did, my RF-1100 bumps my collar, camera bag straps, and collar bone when head checking. my shark RSR2 (RIP it saved my life and died in the process) had non of those issues and it was lighter more stable more comfortable and quieter with better thermal control and lest wind blast in my eyes from under the chin curtain as I looked around. additional note, the RF-1000 fits differently than the RF-1100 the shell is slightly longer on the 1100 pushing the chin bar farther from your lips and as badlionsfan said try other jackets with other collar styles too |

when i wear my mesh pants that i had the matching zipper added to it's less of an issue but i dont always wear them it still happens though just less. guess i could get the other zipper half made into a belt loop type thing. i had that thought years ago and just never did it |

Hmmmm, the fact that it doesn't happen so much when your jacket is being held down with your zipper attached riding pants makes me wonder if your jacket is too big and it's billowing up in the back like a balloon. |

I recently retired my RF1000 and purchased an RF1100.. it's perfect. Everything you love about the 1000 is even better on the 1100. My only complaint is that it fogs pretty easily, and coating the shield with something is about the only way to fix the problem. Even with the chin vent open, the breath guard installed, it still fogs more than I'd like. I can't say if it's better or worse than other helmets, the two Shoeis are the only helmets I've worn long term. |

Shoei has the worst fogging I have ever experienced, but there us a solution to your woes. Catcrap Apply to the inside of the visor every now and again and fogging is greatly reduced. |

Shaving cream, or cut a potato in half and wipe it all over the visor. With either method, you want to let it dry then wipe off the residue. Does a great job of eliminating fogging, and either option smells better than catcrap! |

I have the same problem with my Shoe RF1000. It's because of the stupid lip on the back of the helmet. Find a helmet that fits right without that stupid lip and you'll be fine. |

Delta_one you may want to better define catcrap or you may have somebody digging through the litter box |

Or just buy a shark rsr2 with their better than the rest 3 mm thick shields that don't fog up. If I'm spending Shoei money, I'm not rubbing cat shit, veggies or any other home remedy on my face shield. It's 2010, fogging can be prevented. |

dont really have issues with fogging but i almost never had the visor completely closed either. i like the breeze on my face. as for the jacket it's snug where it should be and tight around the middle(working on that) but it's an old jacket with a pretty much straight cut at the waist not short in the front like a sport jacket should be. so i think you're right about the jacket being ill fitted. i've heard the same thing over and over again about the 1100 so it'll likely be my next lid the 1000 i have now is at least 4yrs old. i've had pretty good experience with frank thomas and was looking at their xti 1 series jacket/pants combo i can still log in to aafes so can get whatever the going discount is i think about 20-30 for the pair. but i want to go try them on first of course. because i am still reshaping myself i am hesitant to get a new suit right now thinking maybe i should wait a bit so that they'll be fitted around the new hopefully leaner shape... |

Also, make sure your next jacket has good rear vents. If the air is coming in, it's gotta get out. |

On the vents that may be part of my issue too wearing a mesh jacket with a vest over it. Gotta put my patches somewhere... Also started moving around on the way home and I guess the jacket isn't as snug as I thought. So good points all the way 'round |

please dont buy a helmet just cause it won't fog up easily. first and fore-most; it's gotta be one that fits your head shape. webbikeworld reviews are awesome arai is the only manufacturer that openly advertizez their interior helmet shapes, not just that it is their "NEW" model and that this new model is "TOP OF TEH LINE" or comes with "RACE-REPLICA GRAPHICS" or someother reason to justify the $400 + price tag. not saying that the ywon't offer a level of protection, but ........ damnit i've gone off on a rant again! |

very true. I'm a huge shark fan, really believe in their technology and design. they also fit me perfectly. try on a shark, there are some screamin deals on rsr2 models out there. if it fits well, i can't imagine you'd find a "better" lid. "if the helmet does not fit, you must git!" |
