well it looks like Erik is rocking and rolling again!! I like the new bike! I just hope he can bring the bike to market and start selling it by October 15, 2010 because that would mean he was able to design a motorcycle and start selling it in less than a year after the closing of Buell Motorcycle Company. That would be EPIC!!! |

187 RWH vr's 136 RWH If you think you will see anything close to this on the street version, please share some of what you are smoking. The street version will be closer to the 136 HP figure than the 187. You can bet on that.} |

Anyone see a projected release date or is there one? Did I miss that somewhere? Thanks, LJM |

Just saw this posted in the 'News' section: Poll on Cycle-World (down the page on the right) and the new bike is way out ahead in terms of most anticipated bike. http://www.cycleworld.com/ Also over 3000 views of the video in less than a day. It seems like there are a lot of interested people out there. |

I don't think I've seen this in this thread yet... Off Erik's facebook page: Tim Mcgee "1190RS how are you gonna get HD to approve this?? I know you got something up your sleeve. : )" Erik Buell "Erik Buell Racing is a separate company, not a division of H-D, and I do not work for H-D, so there is no question of approval. The new bike does not violate any H-D owned patents, so there is no need to get licenses, etc. approved. H-D is not engaged in any way, and are on a different path completely, on which I wish them the best success. I and Erik Buell Racing are free to do new American sportbikes. Nothing up any sleeves" Mueller That's pretty much exactly the point I've been making. There's no patent infringement when you buy the bike and resell it. As long as the original MFG had rights to use the patents all is good. Sure in theory you could add to the bike in a way that infringes on patents, but Erik has no reason to do that. |

I don't think any of this matters because Erik is making street bikes again. The fact we may not be able to afford one right now is not that big of a deal...yet. I am hoping in a few years we will see more bikes to choose from and prices that are more in line with what we are used to seeing. That may be a long time though. |

Who said the bike would be introduced the 15th? All that has been said is there would be a teaser video on the 14th posted on the Ratpak records site and they did just that. http://www.ratpakrecordsamerica.com/erikbuell.cfm |

I voted also! Wouldn't it be great to see Erik run away with this poll results? Just think, less than a year ago, the brain trust of Harley-Davidson closed down the Buell Motorcycle Company and now one of the largest motorcycle magazines has a poll out in which the most interest out there in a new motorcycle is one that Erik Buell is going to build! I think the entire board of directors at Harley-Davidson should resign immediately to save the company any further embarrassment! |

I think the entire board of directors at Harley-Davidson should resign immediately to save the company any further embarrassment! +1 But they won't. They will ride the "core business" (AKA rolling anachronism) right in the ditch. |

So does that mean if Erik Buell Racing is reworking a 1125R into their streetbike that there will be a warranty on it? for sure h-d will not be liable as the bike has been altered. I have not been keeping up with this topic as I have not been around a computer for a few days and my phone has limited abilities for searching the internet. or are they producing a brand spanking new bike? |

Sure, I believe you can take your new 1190RS to any Erik Buell Racing licensed dealership and they would be happy to complete all warranty work for you without question... You may want to think about moving closer to East Troy... |

Brand new-ish bike Rocco. Based on the 1190 race bike which has little in common with the 1125r. |

I am not sure if this has been said but I think that the Erik Buell Racing ratpak records partnership is pretty cool. I don't know all of the details of it besides that ratpak seems to be making the apparel, sponsoring the race bike and helping advertise the upcoming 1190rs but still it seems like a cool partnership. I mean heck I had never herd of them before they signed the thunderbolts, and now I have bought a cd and 3 shirts from them. That and it is neat because it is two small companies trying to do something huge together. |

Who said the bike would be introduced the 15th? Hmmm... I must have mis-read something, I could have sworn somebody said the bike was going to be unveiled on the 14th... I'm too tired to read back and find out where I went wrong. |

I can't put much weight on a poll issued by a publication that gave the XR1200 the "Best Standard" crown last year. I've ridden it... It's not the best at anything. The idea that they would pit that lump against a Brutale or a Z1000 from any generation is a complete joke. Still, it's nice to see Erik getting some press. |
