Corporate greed is still that, corporate greed, no matter how you present it... it does not work for the majority of the people... just ask anyone who has been laid off in their life... it sucks... Corporate greed is why they hire people in the first place. Just sayin'. |

Or why you invest $300,000,000 in a company. Or why you clock in at work in the first place. Damn greed. How well did those "greed free" communes work in the 60's? |

It seems on the horizon looms the new management strategy , "work when we need you stay home with no pay when we don't need you". My company is moving to a 60% temp workforce, but the end of the year bonus still continues? Its disturbing to say the least. Scott |

Why should a company pay workers NOT to work? Don't workers get paid for what they produce? |

Its hard to make a living only when they decide they need you? Your bills still need to be paid each month... Maybe Pres Oz will keep extending the benefits. Scott |

Its hard to make a living only when they decide they need you? Hard to keep a business running when you are paying for labor your can't recoup. |

There's a difference between legitimate ambition and greed. Again I ask, who gets to make that decision? |

Its hard to make a living only when they decide they need you? Your bills still need to be paid each month... Very true however I fail to see how that is the company's responsibility. Should the company keep employees on even if they are unprofitable? It seems that by losing some of the workforce there are still some that are kept on. |

The company going out of business is better than some being laid off and some being kept working? When I go out to eat, the server makes the majority of their money on tips. I pay the tips. If I'm not going out to eat, I'm not tipping. Do I need to tip servers even when I don't go out to eat? I also sometimes ride it taxis. Do I need to be paying cab fare even when I'm not riding? |

Just talked to the yard guy. He says he's got bills to pay this winter while he's not mowing yards and wants to know if it's ok to keep sending me invoices for yard work. |

Well here you have it once again the bad web doesn't get the big picture! All manufacturing jobs are affected. Due too greed and the fact that global wages are the indicater. It was only a matter of time before the american workers would lose. Learning to live on less is the new way of life. Once we are competitive with the rest of the world we will see small increases. In my companies case its greed! We/they are profitable. I merely pointed out a bad trend in most private sectors of business. Scott (Message edited by velocity on September 15, 2010) |
