I was passed out on the couch in my office when I got the phone call that morning... my business partner literally screaming in my ear, "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!!!" He said I should turn on the TV, I asked which channel, he said "doesn't matter". That's when I realized he wasn't screwing around. Literally every english speaking channel had live images of the first tower burning... as we sat there talking on the phone, I said "hey, do you see that airplane?" We watched in rapt silence as the second aircraft hit, and the ball of fire erupted. I will remember this always, just as I remember watching the Challenger explode in my 8th grade math class. Certain images will remain burned into my brain forever, as I'm sure they do for us all. God bless the victims and their families. |

This very day 9 years ago I awoke in my college dorm room to see this happen on live television. I made the choice that day to do whatever I could to prevent this from happening again. For all those who lost friends, families and loved ones... The American Soldier will never forget. Let those who seek to destroy our nation, it's freedoms and our way of life find no shelter, solace or comfort so long as they continue to plot and seek our destruction. We shall not rest, we shall not falter in our mission to defend and protect this great nation. God bless you all and sleep peaceably tonight in your beds in remembrance of a tragic and emotional day.

ý9 years ago today muslim terrorists committed acts of unspeakable violence upon unsuspecting, innocent citizens. While most ran away from the danger (who wouldn't?), a few brave men and women ran TO the danger. Many of them were killed. Please keep these men and women who gave the ulitmate sacrafice in your thoughts! If you see a firefighter, peace officer or emt today, please say thank you to them for their service! If you see a Marine, Sailor, Soldier or Coastie, thank them for service to bring justice to the evil POS who brought this upon us! |

I just happened to be watching the Today show when the first plane struck while they were using the towers as a live back drop. Katie Curic was on the air live. Will never forget.....how about can never forget, for so many of this generation. In fifty years some group will say it never happened. |

It really just hit me today, what had occurred 9 years ago..i was in 5th grade when it happened and I couldnt comprehend the severity of the situation....I do know...i wrote this for all of those who have fallen: The Day Without Time Today is a day, at which we remember, That gruesome day in September. In which our fallen heroes died, A day in which our country cried. It is this day that brings us through, It is this day, which we must hold true, Because without this day, who knew, That our country could be born anew, It was this day in which we communed, Because we all walked away with a wound. This wound brought us together, In a way that we cannot measure. Throughout the time our country has lived, It is these times, in which we must remember the dead, Those who have died for us, so we can have a clear head, Those who have died for us so that we can have our family fed. And if is for them we go without fear, It is for them in which we must cry a tear. Let this day ring throughout, The sands of time without a doubt. For it is these term of events, That evokes upon evil a consequence. That we will never back down, Not even when we frown. It is these days, that we must not quit, And we must keep a sharp wit. And never forget those that showed true, What we live and die for, for our Red, White, and Blue. We fly the flag everyday, But on this day the flag waves, for the love of our country, which cannot stray, For the day at which the flag waves to the brave, As a symbol of hope for those that crave, For us Americans to be one in the same, Put aside your petty grief’s, and put away your shame, For we are all of one nation, one family, one flame, And as long as we stay, then forever we will say GOD BLESS THE U-S-A. -Jakab Holladay 9/11/10 (Message edited by ridenusa4l on September 11, 2010) |

I was working that morning and remember thinking how crazy it was a jet could hit the building. Then a coworker said a second jet had hit again. I knew at that point we were under attack. It was hard to keep working. |

phones started ringing at noon; standing by with full ruck and back on line four hours later. Longest 72 hours of my life. If I could do it all over again, I would have studied Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashtun in college instead of Russian. Who knew. |

After the second plane hit they hooked up a TV in the lunch room at work. It was standing room only as we saw the first tower fall. I just remember thinking about how many people may still be inside. That was a terrible feeling that morning. I know I will never forget it. |

After the first plane hit, my friend came and woke me up and got me out of bed. When the second hit, I looked at him and said, "we're going to war." Thank you so very deeply, those who gave so much. |
