Homosexuals in islamist states are killed.
My neighbors are homosexual and attend a Christian church. They are welcomed. ALL are sinners in the eyes of God. None who seek a relationship with God are turned away.
The ignorance of Christianity and of Christians in general that exists is astounding.

Blake, do you really think nobodys killed inocent people in the name of Christ?? I always have alot of respect for you, even when I disagree, as you are always educted and informed on your arguments, but come on? There's alot of Christian whackos. No it doesn't make whet the extimist Muslims have done right by any means.
Ft_bastard I think your graph may be off if you think the only time people tried to rule and kill in the name of Christ or was wrong was in the crusades.. many rulers have twisted the words of the good book to manipulate and rule. That doesn't make Christianity bad, just some of the things done in Christs name have been anything but Christian.
How tolerant would Muslims be if I wished to start a church or synagogue in a Muslim country?
I don't want to hear from a Muslim Imam about how WE in the US need to be more tolerant of Islam.
Want to get my attention?
Speak publicly to convince the Muslim world to be more tolerant of other religions.
Ever wonder why it is that the least thing done "against Islam" instantly has the effect of driving up recruitment in jihadist terror groups?
I believe the worldwide (non-US) number of "moderate" Muslims is HIGHLY overestimated. If 90% are "moderate", why is it so easy to recruit people to the extremist side?

Please provide specific examples.
The problem with your premise is that when this "twisted" faith is applied against the teachings of the bible, it's difficult to keep the masses in compliance.
Look at it this way, how many different denominations have been created over the simplest difference (sprinkling vs. full emersion)?
Many, with a jaded view of organized religion, like to attempt to make this leader or that leader "christian", but the facts simply don't hold up.
Hitler wasn't Christian Mussolini wasn't Christian Nepoleon wasn't Christian McVeigh wasn't Christian
It's easy to try to draw an equivalence of "messengers" twisting the faith, but the fact is that when Christianity is twisted, the following grows smaller not larger.
The more "twisted" Islam becomes, the greater the following.

Xl1200r, I won't argue your last point. I hope I'm wrong about what I think is going to happen, but we all know what happens when you vote on "Hope and Change"... not a damn thing.

Ft, there are a LOT of people to recruit from. The Madras schools sponsored by the Saudi's ( with your oil money ) teach hate and the Koran, and little else. To be fair, they also serve as orphanages and take in the destitute, but a graduate of many of them is in no way prepared for life outside charity supported war. The pool of available losers only grows.
I'm more than torqued at the "media"s handling of a minor jerk's actions. You'd think they WANTED people killed. I mean really? How much coverage does this really deserve?
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The leader of a tiny church on Thursday backed off his threat to burn the Quran, saying he gave up the plan in exchange for a deal to move a planned Islamic center and mosque away from New York's ground zero. The imam planning the center, however, quickly denied any such deal. .....

Ft_ I won't quote your last two posts to save space, but I strongly agree with your first post (stamped 6:56pm). However, I'd only add that I'm not sure the answer to intolerance is intolerance.
As for your second post, that's why I'd argue to include killing in the name of Western culture. Maybe that's fair, maybe it's not, but I'd like to see the numbers. Hilter was Western, even though basically no one agrees with what he did.

But just characterizing a bad action as "western" doesn't really get to the heart of the motivation.
Would Japan be considered "western"? Surely one would be hard pressed to find a Christian motive for any actions taken by Japan. I'm certain that Pearl Harbor wasn't caused by twisting Christian beliefs.

Has anyone read this book?
I'd read that, though the highlighted notes in the description already cast doubt on some of the conclusions...
Muslims around the world say that what they LEAST admire about the West is its perceived moral decay and breakdown of traditional values -- the same answers that Americans themselves give when asked this question.
A definition of those morals and values would need to be included.

Most of you kids don't remember the fall of the Shah and the beginning of Ayatollah Khomeini's time in power in Iran - but the ONLY US TV SHOW that was allowed to be shown without editing was Little House on the Prairie.

Ft_, fair point, and I don't argue there would be gray area. Like I said, it'd just be interesting to see the figures.
I think it's relevant as many in Islam consider their religion to be central to their being, while that same sentiment is not found in the Christian faith.
I consider myself a Christian (despite my general rejection of organized religion) and of having Christian-based values, but my religion is not a major part of my life.

I was in the third grade at the time. My teacher (catholic school) used to make us stand at attention for five minutes every day and think about the people who were being held hostage in Iran and what their lives must be like. I didn't understand the politics at the time, but I sure grew to sympathize with their situation.

Sorry Blake, you are wrong once again. Homosexuality and pedophilia are both rampant and well-accepted in Islamist states. Your tax dollars are funding the systematic assrape of young boys while you dishonorably cower in suburbia.

Fundamentalist imams, exaggerating a biblical passage on menstruation, teach that women are "unclean" and therefore distasteful.
That helps explain why women are hidden away - and stoned to death if they are perceived to have misbehaved. Islamic law also forbids homosexuality. But the pedophiles explain that away. It's not homosexuality, they aver, because they aren't in love with their boys.
Does one need anymore proof Islam is a wacky religion?
Can we please get the religious zealots of the "religion of peace" to take out the "religion of fag-o-phobia" and leave the rest of us alone? just a thought.
Xl1200r, I understand your rejection of organized religion. After all, it's rare that any such group remains uncorrupted for any length of time, and the continuation of power & wealth almost always becomes a priority well above the spreading of the word or the charity originally intended.
I heard the interview with the screw you mosque imam. Very pretty skirting of the whole threat business. Very careful "don't shoot the messenger" shtick. It certainly wasn't HIM threatening us with mass murder. He's just warning us.... I'm pretty sure now that he's a full blown tool. I could be wrong, anyone else think he's a man of God?
Frankly I don't think that anything we do that can please those who's lives are based on hate. Save Bosnian Muslims, build mosques, declare America a Muslim nation, none of that will ever help. And by extension, nothing we do will make the ones that already hate us more angry.
The trick is to not make those who really don't care not find cause. Every time we strike a village in Pakistan, the survivors have more hate. Every time we let the lies of the mullahs go un answered, more hate.
This is going to get worse before it gets better. Way worse.
The War against us has been going on a long time. We still won't acknowledge who we are fighting, and refuse to admit we are at war. That's how you lose.

A recent State Department report called "dancing boys" a "widespread, culturally sanctioned form of male rape."
That's a sick and evil form of dominance. It's the same thing that happens in prisons. Research rapes in prison. It's not about homosexuality. It's just as true that many "straight" rapes are not about sex. It's about dominance.
>>> I think it's relevant as many in Islam consider their religion to be central to their being, while that same sentiment is not found in the Christian faith.
Another glaring example of the ignorance that runs rampant about Christians and Christianity.
I'm going back to cowering now, in my suburban Kilgore, Texas home.
