I am in an e-commerce class, and we have an assignment where we have to ask a business with online shopping some questions. Any venders here want to help me out and just answer a few questions? Here is what the instructor has told us to find out: "Given that this plan has us exploring and investigating "electronic commerce solutions and technologies" we want to focus on that more than we want to focus on the companies products or services. So from that point of view, we are looking at what approach did a company use for their e-commerce web site. Are they hosting it in house? If so, what technologies did they use, web server, software, etc. Or with a vendor? if so, what vendor? Did they build their own shopping cart or did they go with a package (what package)? Given all this, it would be beneficial to try and talk with an information technology person at the company or with the person in charge of their web site." You can respond here or PM me, and thanks! |

wow, was the question written like that? or did something get lost in the c v p ? As I am constructing a website for the MBA final. I will be happy to chime in from the build and target launch terminus. The web dev was done in house, with my partner and I for the art work, grafix, buttons and functionality. We are actually having it hosted by an outside vender for credit card shopping cart and for client/patient information and HIPAA compliance we are contracted with http://www.perimeterusa.com/ we will go live in feb; we want to have more thought into our launch than the Congress/Senate did for the HealthCare Bill. |

Unfortunately, I have had quite a few assignments that were disturbingly vague, and not just this class. The original "question" went like this: "CONDUCT an informational interview about e-commerce solutions and technologies with any company of your choice. POST to the Discussion and SHARE your findings with the class. Clearly indicate the Name of the Company and your Contact Person. RESPOND to peers and ASK questions. ANSWER questions asked by peers." And the instructor had to be asked just what she was looking for, and what I posted previously was her response. Anyway, that is great info, but I think I need a finished site to share. Thanks. |
