I'm hopeful that the $30K statement is way inaccurate. I would love to support Erik Buell and buy a bike from him, but I can't afford to justify that kind of purchase unless I move to a climate where it can be my only transportation...Wait, how do you think the 1190RS would handle with ice studs or snow chains? | ||

My Blast does alright in the snow without them, but a supersportbike is larger, heavier, and has sport tires so I don't think it would be a wise choice. | ||

Yeah, but that one is 43 crank horsepower shy of an 1125, let alone whatever power the 1190 will make.  EDIT: Let it be known that I was not serious about the studs and.or chains. Awesome!!! Can't wait to see one! Can't keep Erik down! Not what I would want for a street bike, but dayum!! Pure speculation on my part, but I'd say the price will be range of the yamahondakawasuki liter bikes, maybe a tad higher. | ||

I really hope $30,000 is WAY off. A $30,000 street bike would be a waste of time. I can 03-04 mustang cobra for mid 20's and have some real fun on the street. I see $15K for a ducati and I get sick to the stomach. My 08 1125R for $7,500 otd is da bomb | ||

not bragging.... but I do have it dialed in to about a 8" group at that distance. Watching the Elk hunting shows kinda made me want to back up a little. Plus it makes the 20 and 30 yard shots easier.... and the 500 meter shooting I did in the Marine Corps with open sights doesn't hurt... LOL BRASS-F works! now back to the 1190RS.....  | ||

id do the ice run in a heart beat. ive run plenty of bike on ice and snow... used to ice race on the rivers here in the winter. a yzf600 with ice screws in the tires is interesting. | ||

I'd have to think that under $40,000 would be optimistic. The 1190RS should be comparable in performance to the $40,000 1198R but at lower production volumes than the Duc (and higher overhead without the advantage of Ducati's production line or all the relatively inexpensive parts for the 1198 that come right off other models). The people who will be buying the initial bikes will be people who like the idea of an exotic, high-performance V-twin but don't want something as commonplace as the 1198R. Under $40,000 would be great, but I wouldn't expect it. | ||
