I applaud what he did for Homecoming. But do not play the every one is wrong but me! He is now selling the Buell and getting another brand Why would a mature intelligent man care what a bunch of internet forum YAHOOs thinks about any thing? I have lurked and posted here since I bought my M2 we have had flame wars debates on many subjects. Some people I really enjoyed have left over it. Many just lurk to the forums loss One point fools and BS artists that cannot think critcally will not find it a welcome place. Long term Buell owners tend to be engineers an or contractors by training or it just comes naturally. These personalities see through BS etc it's as natural as breathing. BS artists can' stand the laser like insight then the defensive attacks , lies etc start. You can tell by the mods folks make on thier bikes go faster farkled or paint and waxers which side theytend to. I'm not sure who the crybabies are but, speaking only for myself, when I got the early morning call from Erik that morning the first thing I said was "CONGRATULATIONS" I went on to tease him and tell him that they had done him a big favor, that he'd begun to think like them and that if they hadn't dispatched Buell he wouldn't have had the guts to sever the relationship. It's thrilling to see all the new and exciting things that both Erik and all The Elves are getting involved in. for too long they were constrained by the chains of a corporate closed mind. I, for one, am not pleased to see Rocco leave. He and I agree on few things but I know him to be devout in his beliefs and a smart and honest guy who can be counted on. I have lots of friends, Crusty and Dave Gess among them, who's political mindset differs from mine. Agreeing with me is not a condition precedent to friendship. Rocket seems a bit unbalanced. He refuses to enter into a real dialog on anything. I suspect he doesn't enjoy having to understand another point of view in order to respond rationally. Funny thing, I've actually avoided meeting him in person twice now. I could be wrong, but I just don't see him enriching my life in any way whatsoever. Rocco, My distaste for most of the HDI board is right alongside your own. They are greedy, shortsighted, out of touch, foolish, non-motorcyclists who are killing what had promised to be an ever more impressive American success story. Shame on them. That they employed deceit and revealed malice in their attitude towards Buell is what drives my distaste for them on that issue. Since the closure, we've learned that H-D dictated idiotic constraints (no fully faired bike design), imposed moronic conditions (HDMC will design and build your turbochargers), and pretty much did everything they could (sorry H-D decided to steal your engine an use it for the VRod)to ensure that Buell had as little a chance as possible of prospering. Then when called on it all, they call the report a lie. | ||

Badweb has been taken over by the far right wing-nuts who really don't give a shit about motorcycles. They just use it for their forum to spout out their political views. Most of these ass-holes on here who are giving you grief were not at this year's Buell Homecoming and don't have any idea of how much hard work that You and Dana put in to make this the greatest Buell homecoming of all time. As far as I concerned, it's their lost but the real Buell motorcycle enthusiast didn't miss them at all! There were there for the GREAT motorcycles that Erik has made, NOT for a political demonstration. All of the former Buell employees that attended were sure thankful for the work put into making a Buell homecoming for their motorcycle friends. Rocco, I hate to see you selling your Buell 1125R, but if I was having all the problems that your having, I'd do the same. I hope to see both you and Dana back on a Buell motorcycle someday. I've taken some crap in past years that some know what I'm talking about. I never Forgot it. I've contributed to Homecoming's as far as organizing or even dealer events in the years of BRAG for 11 years now. I've made lots of friends. I come here for them.... nolonger the bike. These are also guys that have been here for many years. My bike is SOLD my wifes gets picked up the 17th. Anything I have that has Buell on it is for sale. I don't own the brand why have anything with it on it. As far as this site. My opinion means nothing. But I will say in my opinion this site is nothing like it was years ago. I post very little now. This thread in how it has went for example... is one reason I don't post much. I have Drama in my own life.... everyone does in some capacity. Rocco is going to quit and sell his bike because he doesn't like a Buell forum on the internet, that he chooses to visit? And Cyclondon, I didn't make it to Homecoming, I live in Madison WI, about an hours ride away, so I'm not a true Buell enthusiast? Do I have to pay some fine in lieu of attending to be considered a Buell Fan? In your eyes if someone is conservative are they instantly disqualified? It's amazing to me that one side accuses the other of generalizations, while making generalizations. I'm with Court, I have friends that are both left leaning and right leaning, sometimes we can discuss politics, sometimes not, I value what they bring to the friendship, not their political leaning. And all of this talk about the board not being what is used to be? Last time I checked any member could start a topic on whatever THEY chose too, and if I'm correct, every member (and non-member) can read any topic they wish or AVOID any topic. This thread is insane. To allow a bunch of maniacs on a motorcycle forum disagreeing with you on politics or whatever else dictate what you do and how you feel in real life is mind boggling. Anyone that makes serious decisions based on an Internet forum, do the world a favor and get some help. I've rarely agreed with Rocco on anything political, but I also rarely challenged him. Nothing I can say will change his mind, and nothing he can say will change mine so why bother? I have many friends that are more liberal than I, and that's how we've got along for years. Anyone on either side of the political isle that gets that upset needs to do the hardest thing for an opinionated loud mouth like me there is to do-- ignore the jabs, shut up and get out of the discussion. As easy as it is to get pissed of and bang away on your key board, a message board is the easiest form of discussion to bow out of or better yet not get sucked into. The responsibility to know our hot button issues and not allow them to be pushed is our own. I couldn't make it to homecoming this year, but I sent money anyway because I believed in what Rocco and Dana were doing and I trust they used it well, in fact there's no question in mind they did. I've said a lot, and may have said nothing, but I just woke up and I'm letting it fly. Now if every one doesn't calm the eff down I'll be forced to post nothing but Gianna Michaels pics until everyone "releases" and calms the hell down. | ||

The problem with most threads these days is that we've become so familiar with each other that we aren't even discussing the thread topic any longer but are dragging in all the previous discussions. The politeness we would offer strangers is foregone and replaced by the coarseness of family. I have never been able to come to a Homecoming. The timing and distance have always kept me away. There are many who have never made it to a March Badness or Buelltoberfest. I don't question their sincerity as owners of the brand for not making it. There have been 135,000 Buells sold. Are there that many poser owners? |
