Welcome to the political discussion, Charlotte. I support this idiot's right to burn the Koran. I support the Imam's right to build a mosque wherever the city ordinances say they can. I think both are equally intolerant and serve the exact same purpose, "my God is bigger than your god". Somehow, through, I don't believe Jesus would be striking the first match. |

Wasnt this country supposed to be founded on religious tolerance? Shame on everyone but Spidey! You obviously have ignored his anti-Christian posts. |

Sure is. It's the wisdom of it that's in question. |

Isn't that his right under the Constitution? Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner! Oddly enough, Larry Flint should be marching in support of this guy's right to burn a Koran. Wonder if he'll bring out some penthouse pets to hold signs...... I think his decision is a poor one, but he is free and protected to make it. Now were he to fire bomb a mosque...... |

Who are you to question anyone? To be honest, I'm just as sick of all the Evangelical Christian crap being crammed down this Countries throat as I am the Islamic crap. The hypocrisy is at an all time high. "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you" is one of the many lessons of the Bible new age Christians have decided to ignore. You don't get to pick and choose what parts you like and don't like. Not real Christians. What a bunch of posers. |

I think both are equally intolerant and serve the exact same purpose, "my God is bigger than your god". So if Muslims build a mosque that means they are intolerant? What do you expect Muslims to build, a Catholic cathedral? A Jewish synagogue? A Buddhist temple? No, Muslims build mosques. That's what they do. They're not being intolerant, they're just being Muslims. The Iman has been active in lower Manhattan for 27 years. There is no reason to be terrified or outraged by Muslims building mosques. They've been doing it for many, many years in America and the vast majority of Muslims have never hurt anybody. |

I'm not sure why I bother reading this stuff, or more importantly, respond to it. So much of it is just incredibly dumb, but some of it is funny and entertaining in a way. |

Aesquire, Amazon.com has a paperback of the 1979 John Burton translation for $24.00. The 1517 Richard Burton will be difficult. Original Arabic versions are getting hard to turn up. Pretty sure I am not the only one burning em. Ten years ago they were in most used book stores. |

m2me, If you haven't gotten the major points about why the WTC Victory Mosque is offensive and unwise by now, then talking to a wall is more educational and informative than listening to your nonsense. You tend to lecture like your Messiah. Glad that you are entertained because most of us certainly are not amused. BTW, did you catch that soon to be declawed Obama's speech yesterday? This guy has the thinnest skin of any President I have ever seen. "They talk about me like a dog", said Obama. How presidential. What a wimp this guy is. President George W. Bush endured blistering criticism and never flinched. Like him or not, Bush has a moral backbone that the Messiah could only aspire to have. Obama did make a mistake about his criticism of us Conservative Republicans. He said we are the party of no. He got that wrong. We proudly and loudly proclaim that we are the Party of HELL NO! Funny how this soon to be ex-president failed to mention that the Democrats control the Executive and both houses of Congress. This guy has got to exit the stage and we have to repeal the continued attack on the American People by this human wrecking ball. Everything this guy touches turns to caca. Expect to see mass resignations from his Cabinet after November. |

Honestly, I couldn't care where they build the mosque other than the few acres where one of the largest mass killings of US citizens was conducted by individuals who did that killing in the name of the religion seeking to build the mosque. It's insensitive at least and intolerant at worst. It isn't about the mosque. It's that they want to build the most in that particular location. I think you know that but are ignoring that fact for the sake of argument. Had 9/11 not occurred, sure build it in that exact spot. No argument from me. Post 9/11, maybe a better spot would be a better choice. |

As a Christian, I am ashamed to admit that Christians will be defending this. I read a story the other day about some "Christian" militia pledging their support for this. I don't see the Jesus I know anywhere near this mess. |

Breaking news! A Lutheran church in North Dakota is building a Buddhist temple. When asked about the unusual move Pastor James Svien explained, "I didn't think it would be wise of us to build a church so far away from the Hallowed Ground of Ground Zero. I mean, it might look like we were being disrespectful to the victims of 9/11. Originally we were going to build a mosque, but I remembered that my brother-in-law Jeff had gotten one of those funny Buddha statues at the State Fair a couple of years ago. Well, since we already had the statue we figured it'd be pretty easy to build a Buddhist temple around it." Members of the St. Peter Lutheran congregation are expected to begin worshiping at the new temple in November 2010. |

The thing i find interesting is most Americans are lumping all Muslims together into one group. It is kind of like lumping the Pope in with WACO. |

Moderate Muslim that are respectful to other cultures, educated, a member of our community.... I dated one in highschool, of course that was 25 years ago. Would I lump her in with the Radical Jihadi F*cks that drove planes into the towers? NOPE. But I am not nominating Charles Manson for a Nobel Peace Prize either. There is evil, it should be met with wide open opposition, well armed, funded and backed; anything less is apologetic appeasement that would make Chamberlain shutter. make no mistake that they will not hesitate to decapitate you and broadcast it on youtube, it is what a Radical Jihadi F*ck does. |

You obviously have ignored his anti-Christian posts. Nope, you ignored my anti-religion and anti-peoplewhothinktheyareAmericans posts. Unless you are 100% Native Americans your families were all in the same situations at different times in American History. Catholics Irish Polish German Romani Italians Anyone remember what happened to AMERICAN citizens of Japanese decent during WW2? I don't think we need to cover what happened to black people... Sure it is fun to joke about race and religion, but when you start impeding on anyones rights you go against everything any every reason this country was founded. That goes for burning anything and building anything that applies to all local laws and codes.

Building a Mosque two blocks from Ground Zero is on a par with erecting a statue of the U.S. Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima in the heart of Hiroshima. Some jackass in Florida burning Qurans is nowhere near the same level of insult. |

Hail She-Ra!!! Same level of insult? No, not like publishing a cartoon. That gets you death threats, riots and hundreds dead. I always loved the sign at a protest in the middle east. " death to all who say Islam is violent." I wish I made that one up. |

How does one reconcile stereotypes & "bad Muslims" rhetoric with their Countrymen serving & sacrificing in Muslim countries for decades? Fifty book-burnin' crazies in Florida are a perfect foil to the mosque 'issue'. , look up. |

Had the Irish or Italians committed mass murder in the name of the Pope and then sought to erect a victory building on the site of the murder, your analog might have some merit, Spidey. |
