she hit a sand pocket and went over the bars into the side of the mountain (not pictured)

lukily, only a bruised right knee, a scraped up left knee, and a soar arm is all that came out of it.

i looked back and she wasnt back there anymore! i almost had a heart attack as i back tracked looking for her. luckily some other drivers stopped to help out. i felt like an ass as i showed up 5 minutes late :/

as far as the bike, the brake lever and shifter got tweeked, nothing my leatherman couldnt fix lol.

we headed back and she rode home just fine. got a little too confident on that long increasing radius left turn up hill.

Well I can tell she is at least smiling in the helmet, means she took it in stride. Glad she is OK. Isn't it the worst to be in the groove then look back and someone is missing? Even worse when it was your wife I bet! Nice bike by the way, what is it?

That sounds almost exactly like what I went through this summer when my wife crashed. Boy is that ever a terrible feeling when your looking in the mirror wondering why they aren't coming around the bend. Turning around for the "search" is just awful!

Glad she's OK. Hopefully it wont mess with her too much on future rides.

I like the sign. She looks OK. An excuse to buy a pretty one-piece suit. I bet she is stiffer today. Got to get back on the horse.

my fiance has never gone down...but I know the feeling when I'm checking my mirrors and she's a little slow coming around the corner! My future mother in law would kill me! Lol

Glad she is ok.Ill bet your heart dropped when you didn't see her in your rear view.Maybe the swan patch on her jacket broke her fall or brought her luck.

from speed pop up a gear, from start stay in low.

box out and keep the eyes up, watch the shadows and tone of the road, it will give a hint to the surface.... and when in doubt, throttle out.
w00t dirt, get sum.

Does she have a Dharma Initiative patch on her jacket? That's what saved her!

Glad to hear she's upright & alive!
I TOTALLY feel your pain about looking back, not seeing her, and when you do get there - someone else has beaten you to the punch! Couple years back my wife's following me on her Blast, runs wide into a corner, lowslides on the gravel, and sends the Blast & her into ditch. Once I notice she's not behind me and circle back, there's an older couple already helping her out of the ditch. Nothing like feeling that it should be you who's helping her. Light cosmetic damage, scuffed up leather coat, and she had one helluva bruised ego - HA! That was the last time I rode in front when riding with her.

Yes that's an NT650. O would have had a Buell years ago, except my 88 was such a good machine.

I usually let the less experienced go first so they don't write a bigger check than their skills can cash trying to keep up with me.
