im on the fence on what i should do. currently im on a S-1 with stg3 heads, xb9 pistons, and loving it. however the bike cosmetically is a mess and its a little embarrassing to take to meets. the frame has some pretty bad damage to it on the left side, and would require replacment, and all the body work repowdercoated/painted. ive been toying with the idea of picking up an XB with the 88" kit in it, as ive seen a few pop up occasionally for sale. i would like at least about 15% or more power than i currently have (guessing mid 90hp range currently) so my dillemma is this ride my blast while i fix up my S-1 pick up a 88" XB and sell my S-1 pick up a 1125cr and sell my S-1 i know you guys will be XB biased but hopefully someone in here has experience with all 3 bikes? its my main way off commuting to/from work/school and for pleasure. Blast is my backup (which is currently down from a blown headgasket :/ ) (Message edited by the4ork on September 05, 2010) |

I would opt for the 1125 option. It is a hell of a motorcycle and does many things incredibly well. |

CR. And...my garage currently? 95 S2 with thunderstorm top end and X1 cams 98 S1W, bone stock with race exhaust 06 Uly, bone stock with Erik Buell Racing ECM 09 CR, TOTALLY stock (except Uly pegs and touring seat). So...I think I'm about as un-biased as you're gonna find. I love my 1200s...but since you say you want "more" power (not sure why, but whatever), get the CR. You won't be disappointed. But if it were me, I wouldn't let go of the S1 either. Tubers are rarer by the minute, these days. |

CR is the easiest way to get the extra power, and has gears to use it. |

DAMMIT i knew i was gonna have to buy an 1125cr one day :/ now here is the real hot-poker. is there another brand (bike) that i should opt for instead of the 1125CR? i.e competitor. only one i can think of right now for some reason is the Z1000. Though, I'd like to stay buell, if im going to get another bike thats newer with a warranty, it might as well be one that has a 'dealer' |

A a daily driver, get an XB or use the Blast for that duty while you fix up the S1. I have an XB, a S1 and a 1125R. The last bike I'll give up is the S1. I enjoy them all. |

Ducs - lol - till the first adjustment - Commute on the Blast, Go play on the CR, And fix up the S1 in your spare time! Now that is a balanced lifestyle! EZ (Message edited by ezblast on September 05, 2010) |

The S1 is much better over the long haul than either the 1125CR or a 88" XB, mainly because it is more of a man sized bike. True the 1125 has lots of power and a hot rod XB is fun to ride, but for day to day riding they get tiresome after awhile. Ideally what you really need is a bike for every occasion, if you cant have that then the S1 is the keeper. |

hmmm... im liking the fixing up the s-1 idea the best. but i have been looking for a good used frame to start a project off of since october, all i have found is people wanting an arm and a leg ($600+ that needs refinishing) or race frames, which i dont need. |

Get the CR. I would trade my XBR up in a heartbeat for one. |

The S1 is much better over the long haul than either the 1125CR or a 88" XB, mainly because it is more of a man sized bike. I have to disagree there. 6'4" rider, 34" inseam, 35" arms here. S1W, stock pegs, stock bars, stock (solo) seat. I feel like I'm wearing a thong, and more often than not I'm sitting on the tail section, not the seat. CR, stock clubmans, Buell touring seat, Ulysses pegs (1" drop). Other than the forward-leaning position, it feels as substantial as my Ulysses when I'm on it. For similar wheelbases, I feel like I have a TON more room on the CR than I do on the S1W. |

Ricky, there's a 2001 X1 frame in nuke blue for sale in NC (Charlotte, or Winston-Salem Craigslist) for $200. I know it's not on the left coast, but even with UPS it couldn't be that bad. Late X1's had all the right bracing in the frames. |

I have an XT and it is probably the perfect Buell for me. However, I put about 300 miles on a CR one day and I fell in love with the power. Totally fun. I would probably end up losing my license if I owned one. I wouldn't trade my XT for one, though, because my fat rear can't ride one all day like I can my XT. Now, the 1125 motor in my XT...one can dream can't one. |

Whatever you decide you want, add to don't replace. If I had know Buell would be shut down, I wouldn't have traded my cityX in on the 1125r, I woulda kept it and added the 1125r. |

XB is technically far superior to tuber, BUT doesn't have the tuber magic. 1125 I find rather soul-less, & Blast never tugged at me either. In your place I'd get an XB & rebuilt the tuber. Wait a minute... I did just that! |
