Nice!!!! The best part is that if you want to de-fairing your FZ1, you can buy those parts in the US rather than having to order them from Europe. Too bad neither the FZ1 or FZ8 get the cross plane crankshaft. Really like the looks. I'd love to be able to put an even shorter tail on it. |

Add the cross plane crank and I'd be all over that thing. Maybe in a year or two??? |

I know. I really thought the cross plane crank would have trickled down to the r6 and other models like this by now. |

My Editor (who is our expert on sports bikes) says the cross plane crank made the R1 the worst street bike of the class. Change to race winner turns it to much less street friendly. |

I would have thought the cross plane crank would be a natural fit for the R6, FZ6, and the FZ1. It's supposed to provide a better mid-range isn't it? I've heard the R1 and it sounds awesome. I feel dirty lusting for an I4. |

I had an 04 FZ6 a while back, great bike! BEST highway bike for sure! But great all around bike too. I really like the looks of this FZ8! I remember when I had my FZ6 there was a no front fairing version in Europe that looked neat. I love my Buell...but on long highway hauls I do miss my FZ6. |

I suppose that you'd need to keep the cross plane motor spinning at a pretty fair clip. Normal, daily, mortal riding where the RPMs aren't tached out might not be nearly as friendly. Still, I like the concept and would love to see that motor in a fire breathing hooligan wrapper. |

We've had the conversation before - I rate the CB1000R and the Z1000 (now that I've just had a decent ride on it) ahead of the FZ1 because they are more licence friendly. They all go there in a blink, but the FZ1 is further into the disqualification zone before it gets 'pretty'. The others work better lower down. Twin-owner syndrome. |

I'll take the FZ1. THe bike is just a bit more raw. |

Now if Yam were to resurrect the TRX, but with a retuned version of the lump from the new SuperTen, I'd be very interested. |
