Here is the same story from AOLnews http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/boy-tested-f or-stds-after-finding-condom-in-atlanta-hotel-room /19609907 And from the AJC (whoever they are) http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/4-year-old-alleged ly-597904.html If the story was only on Fox, then yes you may have legit points, but not this time. |

not sure how a boy licking a condom relates to politics but what ever. My question is how old was the kid to be licking a used condom. I mean was he old enough to know what it was and had a weird fetish for it or was he to young to know what it is so there for done it because he did not know what it was? |

Despite the deranged protestations of the far left, Fox News has established a rock solid reputation for factual news reporting and has been found by multiple independent studies to be among the least biased television news reporters. Ignorant left wingers equate Fox News with Hanity and O'Reilly, neither of which are news reporting shows; they are commentary shows. The news reports are presented by Bret Baer and Shep Smith and are excellent. Fox has broken a lot of serious heavy news stories over the years, corruption in the UN for example; the ACORN scandal, and many others that were ignored by the rest; too inconvenient for their ideology apparently. Wise folks take information from all sources and apply logic and critical thought. Morons who cannot think for themselves willfully censor information so their feeble minds are saved from having to apply critical thinking. They are left ignorant and foolish. Then there are the dishonest ideologues who cannot be bothered with ALL the facts or opposing points of view. Chances are they are just lemmings blindly following their fellow ideologues. Lame. |

The problem with that, Blake, is that any network that bills itself as a "News Network" does its reputation much harm by offering up "entertainment news" commentary shows (Hanity, O'Reilly, Beck). I'm not saying there isn't more serious news reporting on Fox, and I'm not saying it's any different for MSNBC with Oberman and Maddow. What I am really concerned with is that fundamentally, TV is not a medium ideally suited for news reporting. It is ideally suited as a medium for entertainment, and sadly, this is what so much of today's "news" has been reduced to. The act of reading is far better suited to spread the news, since it engages our intellectual faculties and critical thinking/analysis, rather than allowing us to be passive receivers of TV bombardment. Your third paragraph speaks best to this, Blake. I feel that since your overall commentary is biased from the Right, however, it weakens your argument: since there are also "deranged protestations" from the far Right, and no shortage of "Morons who cannot think for themselves" on both sides of the political fence, your plea for people to analyze information and apply critical thought to it would be stronger if you left out the Right bias, thus allowing your message to reach deeper. If you sprinkle your rhetoric with Rightist bias, you risk reaching only a bunch of "dishonest ideologues" on the Right, just shaking fists in the air, high-fiving each other smugly, and screaming out,"Damn straight- you got that right, Brother!" I don't agree with many of your political views, but nevertheless, I can agree with you when you write something with an intelligent, clear message without excessive political slant, that can apply to everyone, regardless of political view. |

I keep asking myself . . . "why, if Fox News and their opinion shows, are so damn bad . . do they garner ratings that the are far in excess of all other networks combined?" Any of the other networks would die to to have half the viewership FOX has . . . . interesting. I'm pretty much stuck on science and stuff like "How it's Made", "Factory Made", "Modern Marvels" and the current "Through the Worm Hole". But them I'm dull and live with blinders on. . . .hahahahah |

Only on Badweb can a link to a story about a kid putting a used condom in his mouth turn into a political debate. |

"what do ya think the odds are the grandmother stuffed the condom down the kids throat so she could sue the hotel?" This is my first gut reaction. Couple of years ago I had a woman call me complaining that her landlord wouldn't take care of bedbugs in her apt. and there were used condoms on the deck outside of her door. At face value that's pretty disgusting and landlord should take care of the matter...Fast forward a couple of days and I'm talking to one of the local police officers and just through conversation bring up the scenario. He instantly knows the woman I'm talking about and tells me she's been arrested multiple times for prostitution so it'll be interesting if/when we hear more of this story. |

The "plant" theory was my initial gut reaction as well. Really sad when we get so cynical from earlier events that this is our first reaction. So many folks trying to hit the litigation lottery instead of doing an honest days work. Speaks volumes about honesty, moral character and integrety. Or more specifically, the lack there of... |

Only on Badweb can a link to a story about a kid putting a used condom in his mouth turn into a political debate. Eboos, I stated early on that when I saw that it was a Fox News story, I wouldn't bother to open it and I didn't! It's stupid stories like that which consumes way too much tv and newspaper print which I feel is a total waste of one's precious time. Now I have a question for everyone who has posted on this subject: what on earth did you get out of this article? Did you gather any ideas? gain any knowledge on this subject? are you a better person for reading this? and finally if it was about a kid and a condom, how would that be political or why the name calling? I own two tv's but I don't have them hooked-up. Four years ago when I put a new roof on my house, I took down my old antenna, went and purchased a new one but decided not to put it back up because I don't feel I need to watch all the crap on tv these days and to be honest with you, I don't miss it! I'd rather spend my time riding my motorcycle or playing my guitar and today is a perfect day to go for a motorcycle ride! See ya! |
