Anyone else have issues with a Zumo failing to capture a trip log / Track? I've got a Zumo 450 and on my last two "big" trips (One was Homecoming!!!) the stupid thing has not collected or saved the trip track. Really sucks because I wanted to save the ride I did saturday as a route. Before I left I cleared the trip log and history so I had plenty of space, I rode Friday, Saturday and Sunday (~850 total) and it took up 14% of the space, but I can only see or download two segments of the trip or just over four and a half hours of riding. WTF |

Update: Called Customer service and had a CS agent on the phone listening while I tried different things myself, he was COMPLETELY USELESS, but I did let him know how I fixed it. Not sure what is causing the issue, but I connected the device and used Windows Explorer to view the GPX older. there was an archive there with two files in it. I copied these files back into the GPX folder and unplugged the device. When it booted, it found these as new data and let me manage it. So I was able to create routes. Interesting thing is, when I plugged back into the PC and tried to import logs it still did not see the restored logs, I had to import the Routes I created off the logs. Weird... |

So you didn't fix the problem, you recovered from the error. I suspect you may still have the same problem going forward. You need to take a nice long ride and make sure it doesn't happen again. |

IIRC you can turn on/ off the trip routing being recorded. There is a memory cache that gets full and then erased to store the next data. I hate to say it but..... read the OM or hit one of the GPS forums. Time2Ride Neil S. |

Neil, Say it all you want but the behavior isn't described in the manual, the memory would not have been full when it archived these points. And the transfer from the device should have worked after restoring form the archive. Snipe all you want, but why? |

paul: What are you talking about "snipe"?? Anyway I learned about it from the Zumo forum and will sometimes use it myself on my 550's that I run on my 1125rt or ST1300. Granted the Zumo OS is not the best in the world but it gets by with 90% of it's features. BTW if you ever have screen/ display issues it can be fixed for ~$50. I just replaced my display because the touch screen was playing with it's self with no input from me. Gotta run, another meeting. Neil S. |

Check over here: http://www.zumoforums.com/ You still need to remember, like here on BWB, that it is the Internet and may be true, may be be fact but, not actually reality. Let me know if I can help. Time2Work Neil S. |
