So, sort of in a quandry. Dealer offers a new 08 1125r with lowers for 7K. Dilemma is this: am very much interested in whatever the 1190 production turns in to. Already have one 1125 and (lucky I guess) none of the issues that other folks seem to be having. So, pick up another 1125 or hang on for what's coming? Thoughts? |

Not being a smart ass, but is there a reason you want to exact same bikes, such as setting one up for track only? If not, I'd wait and see what's coming. I'm looking at getting a second bike myself, but I want something that's gonna give me a completely different riding experience than my 1125r, something like a triumph bonneville. IMO, getting two bikes of the same make and model isn't the best use of expendable income, but that's just me. |

I agree - seems a little foolish, unless you want to be one of those weird collector guys. |

Pro: At $7k, you are probably getting the bike for less then it cost to make it. It's a heck of a bike for that much. Con: It will take a LONG time to wear out two 1125's, and you might be interested in something different before then. And insuring and plating an extra bike adds up month after month. |

*IF* a street legal 1190 came out, it will be limited production, and quite a bit more than $7k. |

A little background I guess may help. I live in Alaska, but travel a lot. The 1125 is in Arizona. The Mrs' xb is there too and one kid bike. Don't have a sportbike here at home. Just one to visit periodically. Saving money for what may be, but dang. Low price for a zero mile 1125. |

If you already have one, and you have to ask as to whether or not to buy.....I would think the answer would be no. If it were a yes, you would already have it. |

I will save you the decision making, Let me know where the 1125 is, what dealer, and I will go buy it. That way you wont have to worry about it. |

if you want it get it. You can always sell it in the future if you want. I wonder what will happen when Erik starts producing the streetbikes how many of the HD Buell 1125R's and XBs will be sold in order to buy one of Erik's new bike! I know if the new 1190 comes out and the price is in my range for buying I'm getting one |

I'm going to hazard a guess that the first Erik Buell Racing bikes will be in the $30k and up price range. |

Larry, Having met me, and knowing I own 5 Buells, you know I will say BUY IT! Especially since your bikes are down here in AZ. All the more reason to buy one up there. It will ALWAYS pay off having bikes in multiple locations. that way, no matter how you get from point A to point B, you know you will always have a bike available when you get there.

Hey, thanks for all the input. How are you guys doing in AZ? About 50/50 to be there over Labor Day. May head up to Flag, pick up the kid and go to the Canyon. May try to get through when you guys do your Rim ride too, but this far away it's only a crap shoot as to whether I'll be able to. Thanks everyone, LJM |

Or, you could go buy a Uly with that 7k. In Alaska, a Uly would be great. |

we are still burning up down here, with triple digit heat. it just plain sucks. Still working dates for the rim ride, HWY191, thought the first weekend of October would work, but looks more and more like the second weekend will be better. If you have time when your down here, give us a shout. |
