I was just talking to Terri, and she said, we need to go somewhere. So we decided that it's time to go get some BBQ at the Dinosaur in Syracuse. We'll be there at 6:00, if anyone would care to join us. If you've never been to the Dinosaur, you're missing out on really good food, and a, um, unique atmosphere. I'm going to put this up on Wildguzzi, as well; because I think it would be fun to get a bunch of Buells and Guzzis together. Both bikes attract interesting people, and it would be really neat to see some of each there. |

Ratbuell; I'd love to. However, there are several reasons why we can't. Doing an easy overnight to Syracuse is about all the time we can afford. Froggy; are you in for the Dinosaur or W.Virginia? Spidey; I think you might be onto something. I didn't get a single response over on Wild Guzzi. Pity. |

Crusty, Might be a little longer ride to WV for you and the lovely, but it would be well worth it. Did I mention the food is great? |

In for the Dino. I was thinking about doing the WV rally, but the Dinosaur takes precedence 4 hour drive for me to Syracuse (normal speeds, not hypermiling), so I may end up making a weekend out of it. |

Cool! There may be some folks riding over from Buffalo, as well. Terri and I are staying overnight at the Motel 6, then we'll head back towards Massachusetts Sunday. |

Who's riding over from Buffalo? I was suppose to be cutting firewood on Saturday but a Dinosaur trip sounds mighty tempting. |

I talked to Don (Oz666), and he said he was coming, and he said he was going to try to bring a couple of others with him. He gave me names, but I immediately forgot them. Anyway; come on out! Eat good BBQ, kick tires, talk motorcycles; does it get any better than that? After we eat, we can ride the two blocks over to the Mohawk Power & Light building and admire some spectacular Art Deco. |

We did have good company and good food. The ride; well, that's a story in itself. On the ride out, we ran into a major traffic jam. There was an Air Show in Westfield, MA, and I think that half the population of New England was going. It took Terri and I an hour and 40 minutes to go eight miles. So we got off the Turnpike and took secondary roads, which helped us to get past the insanity. All in all, it took us 4 1/2 hours to go the first 120 miles. Today, it freakin' POURED on us most of the way home. Then we hit a couple of traffic jams, but neither was nearly as bad as yesterday's. It only took us about eight hours to get home. We could have got home sooner, but we stopped for a long lingering lunch at one of our favorite little restaurants, then took a ride through West Stockbridge, MA. (I was hoping to see Alice's Restaurant from Arlo Guthrie's song, but didn't). However, the meal and the company more than made up for any inconveniences in the ride. I have forgotten a couple of names; which is pretty good for me; I usually forget everybody's name in a matter of seconds. This is when Terri and I first got there
Some of the interesting artwork
Everybody chowing down
And this little guy who was obviously enjoying the food
Rich from Syracuse rode his Firebolt over and joined us about halfway through the meal, but we didn't get a picture of him. It was really neat to see him again, though. We really enjoyed dining with such an eclectic group: Froggy, Tim, Nikki, Oz, Bobby(?), Mark(?) and Rich. We had a great time; now, there's only the Dinosaur in Rochester left (until they open the next location in Troy, NY this fall) |

As I was discovering the leaks in our relatively new roof, I thought of you and Terri in that horrible rain. I am so glad you got home without problems. It was neat to have some Badwebbers in town and spend a bit of time together. See you again I'm sure. |
