Interesting... * Top Speed: 160 mph (257.5 km/h) * 1,125cc * V-Twin engine * Dual overhead cam * 8 valves I guess H-D just thought it wasn't heavy enough
"This is the now-defunct Buell's late-to-the-party entry in the super bike field. Reports of the bike's performance were largely positive. While the engine note could never be mistaken for a Japanese competitor, the Harley-Davidson V-Twin engine produced respectable low-end, off-the-line power and handled higher speeds with aplomb and dignity — though with the traditional V-Twin vibration.
With its ties to Harley, a traditional cruising icon, the Buell 1125R mixes track chops and tour capabilities in equal measure. In essence, the bike could be ridden for hundreds of miles to a race track with no issues, and then whipped around the course with equal assurance.
This is not the fastest super bike on the list, but it may combine the best of both worlds for riders who want both speed and style in a bike. "
and there description of riding it is pretty good! it will defiantly weed out the skittish when it comes to seeing if you can keep the throttle pinned longer then anyone else... it is my kind of ride!
Its a shame an "educational" channel can't get their facts together. I'm familiar enough with some fields to spot errors in their science and nature programming, so when I watch a show about something I don't know much about, I always wonder how much BS I'm being fed.
"176 on a dyno doesn't account for wind resistance which will suck up HP."
No truer words were spoken then that. Ask anyone who has ridden the speed trials at Bonneville or anywhere else. After a certain speed areodynamics are worth as much or more then pure H.P.
After chucking the stock fairing on my turboed BMW boxer R100RS back in '85 and going with a Yamaha TZ 750 full fairing I gained 10 mph without doing a thing with boost or tuning. Areo baby!
Givin me ideas- I've got an 82 R65 with the factory option Quicksilver fairing, trying to sell, looking for excuses NOT to sell... it's the bike I learned Deal's Gap on, passed many a squid on that thing...

I am not sure they are putting them in any particular order since the first page is of the Busa and the Y2k is the Last page with a range of other bikes in between.
I was trying to figure out the order too. If in order they would normally count down to the fastest, but I don't think I would put the 1125 at #2, no disrespect intended. I think they must be in a random order.
