SO on the way in to work today a guy goes by me pegged on his Honda Shadow. He is wearing a beanie, sneakers and a hoody. The Hoody is the best part, it is a Son's of Anarchy hoody. Now if it were just that I wouldn't think twice. A little toolish but whatever I enjoy the show as well but to me seems a little too 'clubish' to be wearing while riding. The thing that made me laugh was the lower rocker had Michigan on it! So now his intent was to wear it like the club colors! LOL So I thought he made the thing. A quick google search brought up this site... http://www.ventma.com/tshirts/index.php?cPath=3 So other wanna be club members can unite world wide! LMFAO (Message edited by spiderman on August 06, 2010) |

Did the ET shirt have a rocker that said Earth on it? Re read my post, I wouldn't have thought twice about it till the Rocker. That is the defining point of this thread. The rocker is your 'club' home. If it had said 'Redwood' or something from the show, same thing, wouldn't think twice. But ordering a shirt with a rocker of your area.... That's a little suspect... Maybe I should get a NYFD shirt with Ladder 62 on it so I can be like Tommy Gavin I already got the drinkin part down |

i went for a little putt late last night. as i pulled into the gas station, i noticed 3 baggers on a trailer. windshields, backrests, ect. spotless chrome, no road grime, no bugs, amor-all'ed sidewalls. all three guys are sportin' brand new, black H-D shirts. me: how did y'all manage to break three of them at the same time? ol'dude: why don't you get a REAL bike? me: "got one. why don't y'all RIDE the ones you have?" one guy laughed, and i got the evil eye from the other two. they got in the truck, and headed into town. i rode the long way home. three baggers on a trailer...is that funny, or just sad? |

On the way to Daytona one year, we were behind a trailer with a pair of baggers and the license plate trim on both said "Live to Ride, Ride to Live". To be fair, we were also towing, but were coming from Chicago in late February (my excuse). I rode two times, though, and survived. |

Okay, so here it goes: I am in a Motorcycle Club. Three piece, patch, territory, and MC cube. Mostly Harley Club, myself and one other brother ride buells. There is MC protocol. TV or not, real or not. Rolling around with a three piece patch with "MC" on it can get you hurt. - Badly. My club is an MC with a clean and sober requirement. As such, we are not too likely to rip the guy's shirt / hoody off his back, but it could happen. There ARE other clubs that WILL. Period. Whether you think MC's, suck, are dumb, stupid, whatever your opinion may be, it doesn't matter. Whether it is Right or Wrong for clubs to be that way, is not the issue. Some are, wearing clothing like that puts a target on your back. That said I, and most of my brothers love the show. It's great, but it's just that - a show. - Just please, leave the MC off your gear. |

XWINOS MC. Founded in Minnesota 1977. First sober club in the nation. Chapters in four states. Minnesota, SoDak, Kansas, Arkansas. http://xwinos-mc.com/intro.htm There's a lot of info on the site, and I encourage people to read it. Like I said, We are a Sober MC. It's a fine, fuzzy line sometimes, but it's great. |

That is the same way I found out what a petcock is, but my story involves dumping a bike in a sand pit in Arizona and walking many miles into Flagstaff... before the invention of cell phones... |

Yeah the clubs around here aren't real keen on those shirts. If you cruise around northern IL i would recommend no bottom rocker EVER!!!! 2 patch fine 3 patch with the bottom saying Illinois or Chicago is likely a risk you do not want to take. |

Our chapter of Patriot Guard Riders had an issue a year or so ago regarding rockers. We had to redesign the entire back patch so it didn't have a lower rocker. Some of the more "outlaw" MC's didn't like having a state rocker on the bottom. I believe the nation PGR now has this as part of the charter as well. |

I find this whole bottom rocker issue very interesting from many angles. Where I am from there is a huge LEO club the claims the area on their bottom rocker. No issues with the 1% clubs. Some guys I know formed a club and got 3 pc. vests made. BIG issues with the presiding 1% club and they smartly changed their vests and included an AMA patch on their vests. Similar issue with support gear. I feel that support gear is often sold to people too freely for just going on a run or attending a fundraiser. These people are often times unaware of what could happen if they were to perhaps wear that shirt on vacation in the wrong area. Addittionally if you wear support gear then you should support the club. If you want the street cred. of being seen with the gear then you better be willing to back up a club member even if you don't know him, have never met him and something is going down. |

Whisper - Yep, wannabe's. I guess we all were at one point or other. I used to be a cowboy/astronaut/jet pilot wannabe when I was like 8. Had some cool garb to act out my dreams, too. Wearing faux patches, though, could get you stomped real good, unless you're like 8 years old. Maybe his GF bought it for him, so he has to wear it - kinda like that 'european shoulder bag' thing. |

Ohio, The LEO clubs get away with it because they are LEO's Not a fan of leo clubs BTW, they blur the line way too much. LEO biker mouths off and gets in a fight at a bar, turns into assault on a police officer. It happens, and it's BS. Support Gear: Exactly! Couldn't have said it better. It pays to know what your wearing, and looking cool/tough is just a bad idea. Stirz, yup, and maybe. Whatever, I do understand. I didn't ever see myself as an MC guy, until I meet the xwinos. I have learned a lot since becoming a part of it. Still common sence says not to be going around portraying yourself as part of an element that is known for violence, even if it is straight out of a TV show. Shame on those making the merch. They should know better. Making a buck off some poor fool, and them having them get hurt, I believe gets close to criminal negligence. |

me: how did y'all manage to break three of them at the same time? I've got to remember that one. I understand why people trailer bikes, but I still like to razz them. When my son & I rode up to Newfoundland to meet Newfie we trailered all the way to Eastern NY to save 1,500mi. of interstate hwy. riding. We only had 2 weeks vacation and wanted to spend it riding where it was worth it. On the way home people kept asking if we were headed to Sturgis then I realized that it was going on and all kinds of $60,000+ motorhomes with trailers had bikes in them. Being asked "Why don't you ride a real bike?" just shows what an he is. |

I have a shirt that says "I rode my bike to trailer week" Ditto on the caution about the rockers...when I was a teen, we worked summers in Michigan...there was a local TT/ShortTrack in a nearby town...part of the atmosphere was the gangs that showed up....I saw some people get beat down over "improper gear". But what a show!!! XR's on clay...SIDEWAYS!!!!!! |

I'm what you might call a "hang around", with a Southern California chapter of a Motorcycle Club. I've got a supporter patch that they gave me, and I keep it in a box with some other treasured items. Got a cool pin, too. Honestly, I think that's where that type of thing belongs. If I was going on rides all the time and was first-name with a LOT of them instead of just a few, then maybe I'd sport that on my jacket. But I'm not, so I don't. It's good enough to know that I can get some friendly assistance when it's absolutely necessary. These are the only flags I fly: (Message edited by pwnzor on August 06, 2010) |

I honestly don't understand all this patch stuff and MC stuff. Does the bottom rocker indicate "ownership" of an area or something? I have zero patches on my jacket. I guess that is best for me with my lack of understanding of the whole thing. |

Whatever, that rocks! TOP ROCKER: WHATEVER LC -lazy club BOTTOM ROCKER: NOWHERE If you can't laugh at yourself sometimes, others will just have to laugh to you Dynasport. In a nut shell, yes, indicates ownership of an area. Can be a city, county, area, state, etc. Lots go into it. I'd suggest you google it, if you really care. Don't really feel it right to go to far into it here on this forum. Other suggestion, get a badass large BUELL patch, the oval, and throw it on the back of a jacket. I would have one, if not for the cost. |
