It's hot now a days What do you need to know? Are you moving out this way? Are you visiting? What area? How long? I like it here pretty much, although I'm actually NE OTP. It's way different from Chicago, a whole different culture. |

While the ATL is the hip-hop capital, it's mainly ITP, OTP has more than everything. |

--Unconfirmed reports indicate excess hip-hop may be an underlying cause-- Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura -is a bleeding disorder in which the immune system destroys platelets, which are necessary for normal blood clotting. --unconfirmed reports indicate excess unwanted exposure to hip-hop is the underlying cause for-- Opioid Treatment Programs |

One of the major motorcycle mags named it the best city for motorcycling in the U.S. a few years ago. My guess is that would be due to a combination of factors: Road Atlanta track nearby, dealers for probably every motorcycle manufacturer located there, many aftermarket suppliers in town and nearby, and some of the best twisties in the U.S. just a few miles away in the north Georgia mountains. |

I highly recommend Cartersville, 'bout 25 minutes north, if you're moving. I like it here, and traffic isn't bad at all. Sits right on I-75 and HWY 411, with HWY 53 and HWY 140 very close at hand to get you out into the country quickly. Most important thing to know about ATL: get the HELL off the Interstate when it's raining! I swear these people drive faster when the roads are wet, and GA has some of the highest speeders in the country (or so I read once). ~SM |

>Right now I'm about 30-45 minutes away, and I'm too close... Well then you can see your home from where you work, eh Glitch? I work with folks in Alpharetta who have a 50 minute commute but live less than ten miles away. |

Tons of Urban Sprawl Tons of Traffic City of Atlanta Government is horrible. I would not live in the City itself if I could avoid it. Like Glitch, I live about 30 mins from the City and am itching to move further out. Great Motorcycle roads about 2 hrs north of the city in the North Georgia mountains. |

BTW the traffic sucks ass Come on now, the traffic here is negligible! On the rare day when I go down to the office, it's 52 miles, and it takes me an hour, maybe 70 minutes at most! Straight through downtown, from I-85 at Pleasant hill all the way to the 74! I don't know what all the fuss is about traffic here, I just can't see it. Move to Los Angeles, then you complain... until then... The roads are in excellent shape, and there are twisties EVERYWHERE!!! |

Well then you can see your home from where you work, eh Glitch? Well seeing as how I work at home...yes! Come on now, the traffic here is negligible! Wait until next week when school starts in earnest. The roads are in excellent shape, and there are twisties EVERYWHERE!!! There's nothing like living OTP is there! |

Wait until next week when school starts in earnest. Ok, I'll give you that, I haven't been here long... But I always have my CB radio on, and to hear these drivers whining and complaining about how horrible the traffic is, just makes me kind of laugh. I'm breezing along at 75-80mph all the time, and the only time it chokes up is when a lot of people are getting on all in the same place... then it opens right back up. |

What I know is, in my trade, there are jobs down there... It's the 9th largest metropolitan city/area in the country. It has the 4th largest congregation of Fortune 500 companies. It's warmer and has shorter winters and a better place to ride a bike. A whole lot of gentrification and improvement is supposed to be going on. And, it's a Red state |

then it opens right back up. Welcome to Gwinnett County! Just wait until you need to go into the city, 400, 85, and 75 all come together into one! Then 20 shoots through the middle... Bradley, come on down! If you need to come check things out, let me know, I'm sure we can arrange something. |

And, it's a Red state Big time! It's a bit of a culture shock for me, coming from the biggest Obamunist state I know of... The Demokratik People's Republik of Kalifornia. |

Georgia's highways & roads are in modern and well maintained shape (compared to SC & freeze-thaw states). |

it's pretty amazing thought that i have never driven through GA and one part or another of 75 wasn't being worked on. you get away from the city itself and it isn't that bad at all. |

Glitch, Just one of many stops today. In the satellite pic you can see that line in the trees from the second photo... I have to say that the Speed Triple really tears it up around here. Can't wait to get my bike out here. |

It's great here ain't it! I've gotten lazy and carry my camera less and less. I did the "Old School Loop" and then headed up to Tellico Plains in TN. |

Eastern-southern US coastal plains are NOT moto-friendly roadways, from Long Island to Key West to Corpus Christie, IMO. Lovely places, but not on a motorcycle. |
