This bill would make it a crime for a person to park, use, or operate a motorcycle, registered in the state, that is manufactured on and after January 1, 2011 or a motorcycle, registered in the state, with aftermarket exhaust system equipment that is manufactured on or after January 1, 2011, that does not have the above label, and would make a violation of this provision punishable by a specified fine, thereby imposing a state mandated local program by creating a new crime.
California is awesome! Funny how this B**** got the bit in her teeth on boning motorcyclists. She got shut down on the first smog attempt and now she's trying to do this.
Hay, mabe thats a good thing. Now they might make some decent looking exhausts on the stockers, Yea alot of you out there like loud, but alot more out there don't. Some of these squids have made life tough for the rest of us.....uh..... this law is proof of that. If all the straght pipe clowns hadn't tortured the public so much this wouldnt be happening ya think?
Isn't it already illegal to have aftermarket exhaust pretty much everywhere? How is this anything new?
although most aftermarket exhausts don't qualify, some are EPA (and CARB in CA) approved and therefore legal as replacements for stock pipes. From what I understand, this new law makes all aftermarket cans illegal--but for the most part you are correct. Making a law when there is already a very similar existing law in place. Fuking California politicians. Makes me want to puke.}
New York City has been proposing the same kind of stupid law. If the officer can not see the EPA stamp on your motorcycle, he'll be able to ticket or impound your vehicle.
How many of you can easily spot the EPA stamp on your Buell's OEM can??
Assinine, but every year or so some jackass in a suit tries to reintroduce this legislation.
