Trip to the mall and back. 10 miles one way. Trip up - uneventful. 10 minutes in the store, then back on the bike. 3 miles from home the engine stumbles a bit (70 mph) and the engine light is flashing. back off the throttle a bit - runs smooth, no flash. scenario repeats itself probably every 45 seconds. get off the highway, bike idles ok, nothing obvious. fan is running. last mile or two at 35 mph on side streets - flashing happens a couple more times. at the lower speeds i can hear a difference in the exhaust sound - it sounds - well - muffled. get off the bike-hook up ecm spy but the palm is dead. do the pin jumper thing - get 9 0r 10 very quick flashes, short break, 10 more quick flashes, repeats itself. palm is charged now - no trouble codes present. WTF? |

Hmmmm. Check your grounds. My XB gave me no end of late night tinkering sessions until I figured out that my negative battery cable just wasn't quite tight enough. Bad ground = random gremlins. |
