I always thought they should be selling this as a whole package. |

I prefer the Road Glide to the Ultra. Glad to see it's getting the "Limited" treatment. |

I prefer the Ultra. Simply on looks. Although a New Road King with the screen removed is 'me'. |

So they've brought back the "Tour Glide Ultra" under a new name? Yawn. Wake me up when they actually DO introduce a new model, okay? |

Why not something cool like a Lotus, or MG or Mustang, or Mazda or something? Or 5 Ulysses? |

They seem to be moving the tri-glide (servicar on roids) quite a bit, too. Now that's the geezerglide!!! |

I'd rather have a Victory Vision if i were to get a cruiser glide. But I'd really rather have a beefed up Uly. |

"God! I've owned cars that size." I think my Beetle was lighter, and probably had less storage room... |

I like that model too and will probably trade in my Road King in a couple of years when I retire. Wife desires a more comfortable back seat. I really don't understand all the hate toward HD bikes. Oh my god, I also have a custom bike and we know they all suck too. I'll tell you what though. I am having to put a new belt on my ULY after 23000 miles and replace the rear wheel so I can ride with less fear of bearing/belt failure. Amazing how I jump on either my HD (67000 miles)or Bourget (25000 miles) and ride without any apprehension. Frank |

Sure..bet you don't own a ULY. The "touring" model: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/583053.html?1280590871 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/580189.html?1279986319 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/578600.html?1279059444 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/579733.html?1279043504 |

It's because they're built by a company that is almost universally LOATHED by avid Buell fans. Count me as one of them. |

My loathing is saved for HD's board of directors, the bikes and the folks who build them are not to blame. The way things are going for HD I don't expect that the present board of directors have much of a future. I love my Uly (now that I've sunk a chunk of dollars in it to make it right) but I sure would like a "Harleybago" as it's stablemate. |

These are certainly interesting times as John Olin plays fast and loose with Harley-Davidson's books.
quote:As a company that wasn't so much selling a brand or a product as it was a series of fancy, financed dreams, Harley has one of the messier cash flow statements out there, full of swings from "retained securitization interests" and other wonders of modern finance. Anyone considering an investment in Harley will need to spend a lot of time sorting it all out.
quote:Harley has created a powerful brand through performance and perception. In its current, shrunken state, however, its fundamentals have deteriorated to the point that its chief asset is the clever spinmeister-magician in the back room accounting office who makes the company's cash flow look like something it's not. Harley is now riding mostly on perception and a quarter tank of gas.

Harley is now riding mostly on perception and a quarter tank of gas. I think Harley is running out of gas! I wonder how fast Americans start dropping their Harleys once they made in India? Might be a good time to get into the scrap metal business. |

>>the bikes and the folks who build them are not to blame.<< How many thousands of good folks work on those production lines and offices I wonder. I really enjoy the bikes and I'll save the loathing for something worthwhile. |

Right with you Danger_Dave. Good people, with good families, working for Harley. I, too, like the bikes, and wish Harley well. Great perspective from ten thousand miles away! Ride safe. |

And that's not to say that I'm anything else but disappointed by several management decisions regarding Buell. But as much as I act like the motorcycle universe revolves around me, sadly it doesn't. If it did that new factory that building consent was granted on would be finished ages ago. Some of my tightest pals ride Harleys and are quite hard core about them. Peeing on the brand wholesale reads like doing likewise on them. They didn't do nuffink either. |

That is horrible. If you must buy a humungous (land)cruiser to tour on then get a Victory Vision. At least the design of the Victory was done in the 20th century! Better still, buy a BMW |
