i am trying to figure out which on i would get. there is a medium and a large, but both are listed with the exact same dimensions... i know some of you got them and was wondering which one you got. http://auto.sears.com/Product.htm?catalogId=10624& productId=2022700&sid=I0084400010000100600&aff=Y i realize its only $10 difference but why spend it if they really arent much different. |

lol, yep. the only reason i even kept track of these is because they were cheap. i doubt i will use it much, but it would be handy sometime and for 30-40 bucks its not a bad investment. on that note if anyone has a stock pillion they want to get rid of real cheap thatd be great. the one on my 9 is torn up still from wrecking it in 04 so i can always sacrifice that one for the project if i come across a good one cheap. or a totally trashed one for little of nothing and just use it... |

plus if i mount it on a pillion pad it will go on 5 of my bikes with the turn of a key! (unless i end up running a different tail on the xb5 by the time its all built. |

interesting I like your idea No_rice. That way my bike could have 4 modes. solo sport mode, solo touring mode, and quick passenger mode or cumfy passenger mode. all with the turn of a key. |

I tried ordering those a few times, each a couple weeks apart and sears came back each time and issued me a refund as they were out of stock despite what their website says. I gave up about a month ago when JC Whitney had a sale on theirs. |

I just about bought one of those from JC Whitney until I read the reviews. The first 5 all complained about the lock breaking right away. I didn't want to see my stuff flying down the highway behind me. |

get the larger one. it's 37 liter? correct? look on ebay at the different sizes. we got one off ebay, for the homecoming trip. i made up a seat/bracket combo to mount trunk to. worked great, the wife had something to lean against. and it popped off when we stopped for the night. the latch is kinda flimsy. so is the mounting base. this is a easy fix if you're going to custom mount it anyways. yes, it will bolt up to the seat base. saw one mounted like that at homecoming i think mine was $60. or so with shipping (Message edited by hotrats on July 30, 2010) |

Gotcha, sorry Rice. This looks to be a better option than some saddles. I've got a ripped up pillion seat in my garage. I think I'll order one and give it a shot. |
