I can hold my silence no longer. What started out as possibly just taking a dog on a trip ended up being taking a dog on a trip home. I wanted everyone in line to have first refusal but when my wife saw the pics she wanted to bring her home. I think things work out for a reason and as things would have it we will be very close to Prior on vacation so we're picking her up in NC. Bella will come home to a secure 100' by 100' fenced in yard with several mature shade trees, three young girls to play with her and a new mommy with summers off so she'll be pampered to say the least. We frequently go to the park and the farm so she'll be going too and hopefully enjoying it. I'll keep everyone updated periodically with pics. |

I just got off the phone with one of my best friends back in southern PA, and he (or rather his fiance, after I sent some pictures) are going to take Tyson. He's a farmer, she's a biochemist and they have a very cute 20 acre farm they bought about a year ago that he'll be very happy on. She's got another pup, named Champ, who's a bit of an introvert, I'm sure Tyson will bring him out of his shell. They'll have a good time roaming the 10 acre vegetable garden my friend shave (they are nuts!) VERY cool that we were able to find homes for these two little guys, and a HUGE thanks to all of you for your help in finding a home for them! |

Great to hear Prior. Good pups deserve good homes, where they can grow up to be good dogs (and teach their owners a few things!) I'm sure you will have another little bundle of fur inadvertantly stray your way soon Wolf |

Glad to hear Tyson has found a home. Like we discussed on the phone I thought Tyson was a good looking pup but evidently by nature or nurture unfortunately I'm going to be the only male in our house. We just couldn't take on two pups right now but it sounds like he's going to a good place. |

Bella made it through her trip to the spay and neuter clinic in good shape, the lady at the counter said Bella was a good girl and was 'talking' to the staff all day. Not sure if she meant barking or talking, but regardless... So she's officially ready to take on the world. I broke the news to both pup that they would have new homes in the next few weeks and they were ecstatic. They celebrated with a raw hide, I celebrated with a beer. I even bought them both collars for their new rabies tags, but I got the ones for large dogs, and alas, they are medium sized dogs, so back to the store we go. They were tired, so we put them to bed in the garage. This is how they sleep most nights:
This morning I think they were ready to go road tripping- it's rare that I drive my pickup to work, but today I had a bunch of S3 parts I need to get in the mail. As I was loading the truck up they both jumped in and made themselves at home. The only trips either one of them has made was to get fixed or to the vet, suppose we'll have to take them out for ice cream tonight...

THE GARAGE FLOOR? WHAT THE...! That's no proper place for Bella. She needs to be at the foot of a child's bed...no, wait a minute, I can hear the arguments now, "Bella slept in your room last night, I want her tonight, you can't have her twice." Ummm, let me rethink this whole dog thing. Wife says I can't think much less rethink so we'll see you on the 24th. Glad she came through alright. How is she in a vehicle? I'm taking out one of the captain chairs in the van to give her room to lay down on the way home, I'd say the first stop will be to the local Petsmart for an assortment of goodies. I can't wait for the girls to see her, they still don't know anything about it. What a surprise. |

That's too cute, the 2 of them together- hope their separation from one another will be quickly forgotten. Dogs make a "pack" starting with 2... |

ICE CREAM!!! I promised both of the dogs some ice cream- and we had to celebrate tonight, again... One chocolate JR frosty for Heather and I, one vanilla JR frosty split between two cups for these guys... Heather and Tyson...
Tyson with the first 'spot'
Tyson as a fawn (baby deer, for the non-hillbilly)- He had WAY too much fun with this...
Note that my Heather had to change clothes- Tyson made a hell of a mess with the ice cream...
Bella prefers the muzzle method of ice cream consumption
Mike, We'll send a few extra $1 bills along for ice cream for the kids and pups along the way- just make sure you pack extra napkins... Tomorrow we've got a group of Heather's friends coming into town, so we've got a bunch of beautiful women to hang with the pups and I'm sure they'll make the start to their last few days at the house just awesome. Alex, I was 5 minutes away from drivng down there right after you posted this. It's been 2 years since Frisky died and I'd love to have another pup but as busy as I am it just isn't fair to the dog to be neglected. Thanks for the virtual dog fix though. We're talking about coming down in October so maybe we'll see you again then. Mike |

Mike in Kentucky, Thanks for opening your home to Bella. We will miss her, but I know she will be happy to be in one house with people that will love her and give her plenty of attention. You guys are awesome! Heather (uh, we forgot her password...) (Message edited by awprior on July 14, 2010) |

Got your e-mail. I guess it's a good thing we only live 1/2 mile from a Wendy's although I prefer DQ's blizzards. Their new pecan pie blizzard is absolutely awesome. Good thing we will have a dog to walk now to walk off the treats. 10 days and counting. |

Mike (from IA), Man we've got a lot of Mikes and a lot of dogs in one thread... I remember you talking about Frisky before we moved... I know these two guys are going to good homes and we've had a blast having as a part of our lives for the past few weeks. Yet another tale of how Badwebbers are the best motorcycle enthusiasts (riders, nuts, sellers, past owners etc) around. Looking forward to hearing details of your visit, door's always open (except when I lock myself out... Dumbarse) Prior |

It's 9:15 and the trade off goes down at noon. Two of the three kids are off to a cat swap 'cause my aunt is a foster sitter for five cats right now, they're in for a rude awakening, at least for a day. Cameras ready for the big reveal. This will be a great end to a wonderful vacation. |
