Hope you all know the Hwy 52 Gang...they may not ride on Hwy 52 where you live...but I hope you met them. The story goes like this...... Sunday (the first day I have had off in ages) Most of the people I know don't ride sportbikes...and none of the usual suspects wanted to ride....so I pulled a Jim Kirk...I took off >>>>>>that-a-way. I ended up cruising around in some pretty rural areas....I got on Highway 52....down the road a piece, I spotted a diner that had a few sportbikes sitting there...so I stopped to get a bite and chat with the "locals"...when I went in a group of 8 were sitting around a table with breakfast and coffee...(it was 8:00am)...when I walked up, one of the guys said "hey that is a fine sounding Lightning" and told me to sit. So I sat...and had breakfast and we all chatted about bikes and racing and Rossi's broken leg and such....When they got ready to go they invited me along....I rode trail and had a good time...all on roads I had never even seen before...we rode for about 2 hours and stopped at a truck stop that had a huge space set aside for bikers to use...it was cool...and there were a lot of bikes...mostly sport bikes...and nearly a dozen Buells... The guys were impressed that I kept up (It was at times pulse pounding...but Jezebel never let me down...These guys were friendly, knowledgable and fast...there was a sweet RC-51 and some R-1's and a couple of GIXXERs and a real nice Triumph triple...all modded, all fast, all with shredded tires ...before we went our ways....I was invited to ride with them any time....there are some way cool roads up that way...once I learn 'em it will be even better. They will be on Hwy 52 Sunday Mornings. Hope you all meet the Hwy 52 Gang. |

I ride hwy 52 all the time here in Ky. But my gang consists of just me mostly, it is a great road, and I very rarely see another sportbike. |
