That's my wife for you! I think she really wanted to get out of the heat. She told me it is quite a bit cooler now. She's been riding in 95-105 temps ever since she entered AZ! Thanks for following along, Frank. I told her on the phone tonight about your offer to put her up and ride along for a day or two. She was really flattered! She has not planned her route that far ahead, but don't be too surprised if she shows up in Pueblo/Colo. Spngs area! |

Not a problem. I think her and Lynn will hit it off great as they are both riders.... I understand about the heat. The heat and humidity in WI almost did me in... It took a long couple of days before I returned to what I call normal.... I check her blog every day. Great pictures and words. |

I heard Alien got in a tussle with a lobster today. It is Maine after all I won't reveal much. I believe Melanie will do a recounting of the incident in a day or so. Someone asked if she really has as much fun as the blog would indicate. Fact is, yes. She loves getting on the bike every morning, seeing new places in this wonderful country of ours. Spidey. Are rabbits Alien and Bill friendly? |

Well about half at the shelter would be, one of my rabbits most certainly! If she does want to stop by I could take here on a tour of Downtown to see all the architecture and here if she wants. http://www.hfmgv.org/village/index.aspx Seeing as she is a crafty person, she would really enjoy that. They do glass blowing, weaving, pottery and other colonial demonstrations... |

She loves getting on the bike every morning, seeing new places in this wonderful country of ours. Exactly my experience - as tired as I was, I couldn't wait to get going every morning. |

Today is her birthday. She will be in Ithaca, NY and celebrate her birthday at the Moosewood. For those who don't know, the Moosewood restaurant has developed their own menu and issued cookbooks. She has a Moosewood cookbook and has really been looking forward to the visit. She has good company in and Mr. Bill. |

Hope she had a great Birthday. I can't see why she wouldn't have, except she didn't get to celebrate it with you Asbjorn, but I'm sure there will be plenty of time to catch up on celebrations once she is back home again. Please pass on our birthday wishes for her, looks like the trip is going nicely |

Kate. I'm sure she does not mind. She's traversed the Michigan upper peninsula and sampled the local delicacy, the Pastie. It was cold and rainy through there. She just called me from outside Minneapolis. She's staying the night there. She was not able to blog last nite on account of no motel internet or broadband reception. Next destination is going to be Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. With some stops between, of course. What is more striking about this trip is her experience with people. Just little things. - If she pulls off the road to make a call, there will be someone stopping to make sure she's ok. - A tollbooth operator in New jersey asked where she was riding from and when he heard, he did not charge her the toll - A psychic in Key West gave her a free reading because of the coolness factor of the trip. - Two retired cops in Michigan bought her lunch so they could experience the story - Several motels along the way has knocked of a significant amount on the price - just because She set out on this trip to get a pulse of what the US is today. That pulse is alive and well. Contrary to what you hear on the news, people are happy, optimistic and we still care for each other as humans and a nation. @Spidey: She headed north instead of Detroit. She really wanted to cross the Mackinac bridge. I told her about your invite and she appreciated it. The rabbits did not scare her off :-) (Message edited by doerman on July 06, 2010) |

A bunch of us did the Mackanaw Bridge and the U-P. I saw signs for Pasties for many miles. We stopped at a gas station/convienience store where they had them. I thought about giving one a shot, but after looking at it for a few minutes.....I gots skeered! I was afraid to see what that could do to a group riding day..... It is so great to see her doing the trip I have been yearning to do. Maybe next year. She has inspired me. |

Pasties and Flaky pastry meat pies are a common over here, some better than others. First taker on a holiday over here gets to sample what a 'Big Dads' pie is like and a smokey (Chili's Fave). They are a frank wrapped up in pastry with onions, sweet chili sauce and/or cheese, bacon or salsa. |

Shoot! She was less than an hour from us. I meant to post yesterday-there is a Triumph dealer right here in town. In fact, the former Buell dealer guys in town are kind of tools, if I had to buy a new bike today that would be the first place I'd go. Awesome trip!! |

Ozzie . . . just think . . . . she's headed down the coast . . .you're following her on that tracking device . . . she stops over a scenic overlook on Highway 1 . . . pulls out the photo she keeps of you in her jacket pocket and there . . .right on the screen . . . . you see her dot start moving East. Hahahahahaha . . . talk about a blow to the self esteem! I've absolutely loved reading her adventures . . not only does she have a most refreshing take on life . . .she's a most talented writer. You may be thrilled to see her get home . . . but many of us are cheering for "one more lap". Safe travels. Vick and I will be in LA in a couple weeks . . . I hope to see you guys. |

South from Coeur D'Alene? The coast is west from there. Surely she will be going Through Forks Wa.[Twilightville] and then south through my hometown of Aberdeen. |
