Doctors vs. Gun Owners Doctors (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000. (B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000. (C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services. Now think about this: Guns (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million) (B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500. (C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188. Statistics courtesy of FBI So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. Remember, Guns don't kill people, doctors do. FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,BUT Almost everyone has at least one doctor. This means you are over 900 times more likely to be killed by a doctor as a gun owner!!! Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!! Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on Lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention! |

This means you are over 900 times more likely to be accidentally killed by a doctor as accidentally killed by gun owner!!! Those statistics don't take into account non-accidental gun deaths. Did a quick search and found some government statistics from 2007 http://www.cdc.gov/NCHS/data/nvsr/nvsr58/nvsr58_19 .pdf Deaths from Firearms: 31,224 But looking at percents the way you did I found another statistic from 2006 http://blogs.consumerreports.org/cars/2007/09/moto rcycle-deat.html "sport bikes totaled 10.7 deaths per 10,000 riders." Using your math, deaths per sportbike= 0.00107 Which means sportbikes are nearly six times more dangerous than guns. Man we need to ban these damn sportbikes!!} (Message edited by Not_Purple_S2 on July 15, 2010) |

95% of statistics are made up. How do I know? I just made it up. I've seen that before, I wonder if they know how many GUNS each of those gun owners own. Say that five times fast. |

There should be at minimal a two to one ratio of gun to bike level in any good standing home. Come to the garage and try and figure out if its 3 guns and 6 bikes... or 6 bikes and bakers dozen of guns.... remember it is not guns that kill people... its ammunition. guns w-o ammo are pretty worthless... and ammo is not constitutionally protected, just the 'armament' is. watch for them to control, register, regulate, monopolize and price control ammo... oh wait, they are already doing that. |

Bullets are mostly harmless unless you throw them really, really fast. Speed kills. |

They would have to regulate fishing sinkers and wheel weights to take away my ammo. I've got lots of powder already. And a 50cal round ball mold. And I know plenty of people who can build a gun from a tree trunk and a bar of iron and one little square of flint. Oh, and none of my guns have serial numbers. Regulate that! The present government needs to remember that their very jobs were created by skilled, responsible, patriotic people by standing up to a non-present tyrannical king by using the same firearms that are still being produced today by citizens of this great country. |

They HAVE regulated fishing sinkers. They have made it a crime to use lead as a projectile in some places. ( with no relevance to reality ) There is already regulation in place and in play to make your theoretical tree cannon a felony to possess, and certainly to carry around town. The present govt. does not BELIEVE their jobs are created by citizens, but are theirs by the grace of the Holy State. It's their turn. They have a mandate. You don't have a mandate, no matter what the polls or the voting booth say, since they plan to recruit 29 million illegal votes to counter act your "astroturf". They don't care that you have rights, because they believe your rights are what they say they are. You have the right to be taxed because you work and the people who vote for them don't. ( what's wrong with you? ) Your wealth is theirs to redistribute as they see fit, to their supporters, and of course, some will stick to their fingers, since that's their due, as your civil masters. patriotism has been declared dead, obsolete, and sinful. "Right Thinking" people don't help others, the Holy State does, and your means to resist tyranny is a threat to the Holy State. You are obviously racist, stupid, violent and a terrrorist, a person who has no rights, and may be imprisoned without trial, for as long as the Holy State says. That's what they think. Ask them. While I like flintlocks, I'd much rather have a little more modern technology to defend myself. Something a century old or newer would be ideal. ( too bad I can't afford a new Gatling Gun. Brass, Steel, hand cranks, real industrial age art. ) http://www.gunsandammo.com/content/dont-miss-issue |

Hootow- Mark Twain has been attributed with that one- "there are three types of lies;Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics." Sort of like how can you tell if a politician is lying. Their lips are moving. |

Regulated fishing sinkers huh. Well, next I suppose we are just going to have to put up with unbalanced tires on our cars too. Copper and steel don't do too good in a longrifle barrel. There's going to be a modern auto of larger caliber added to the collection very soon. And maybe something that's longer and has to be pumped. Actually, I've been hinting at a 3" mortar too. |

Lead is not good for you in so many ways. Lead poisoning is a sure but varied way to die. A kid eats some paint off the window sill in his home, then chews on some toys made in china. One of the effects of lead poisoning is severe mental disturbance, that can then lead to bodily function failure and death. This can be classified a 'low speed lead poisoning'. During the Civil War (a misnomer at best) a Private takes a 50 cal lead musket ball between the eyes resulting in instant death. This would be classified as 'high speed lead poisoning'. |

I have a friend that has cast lead bullets for over 50 years.......physically tons of lead.Probably has a lethal dose of lead in his body every month. Just starting to act a little goofy.....but he is in his 80's,so that is more than likely, normal.I guess everyone has a different tolerance........... |

Do I get bonus points for a scar from an M1 Garand bayonet? ... under my jaw? 13lb rifles + bayonet + spinning + throwing at each other + bad throw = lots of blood and a new uniform. |
